After a lot of hair pulling, thankfully I’m bald, the filament sensor and the pinda 2 temp sensor are working on stock marlin and the SKR V1.4.
I’ll put up a how to video ASAP. I’ve already shared a PDF wiring guide and basic firmware video but will double down here soon.

Gotcha covered! 0.4mm and 0.6mm nozzle profiles with all the fancy stuff to work with how stock marlin does it’s start gcode goodness.

Thanks to Keith Bennet for helping me along the way and of course Chris Riley for introducing the world to better Marlin 2.0 videos. Watch his to get the basics down but I think I went over everything slowly enough.
Hope this helps humans setup their printer!!!

After a ton of testing with my first SKR V1.4 build it’s time to do it again.
The first build is awesome and thankfully is working like a workhorse without any bugs. Motor and stepper driver heat is well within range. PSU temps all within range. Features all work but I haven’t programm...

It’s clean. Very very very clean. Cleaner than when I had duet installed.
Some notes. This was my Duet Bear so 0.9 degree XY, geared bear extruder with LDO geared motor, plus some nice parts. Still has stock PSU, e3dv6, and bear parts.
Now that I have this working I’m going to r...

I spent forever crimping on all the connectors, making sure to follow all the pretty diagrams. I thought I was going calm it a night but then I decided I’d test a firmware. Spent some time making it happen and now it should work.
What’s been enabled:
- Sensorless homing (tuned...

Looking for a few brave souls with a MK3/s Prusa Bear upgrade who want to test alongside me the SKR V1.4 upgrade.
Specifically need this setup so we aren’t jumping around too much. You can have whatever extruder you want I’ll have the bunny bear gearbox attached to a stock Bear extrude...

Bed PID tuning sounds weird right? Most of us have done a nozzle PID tune since it’s in the menu or we’ve done it manually but it’s something we may have heard is important. But what about the bed??
After a long time of testing I can tell when a print has a bad PID tune. Normally the...

SKR V1.4 and incoming TMC2209 for upgrading a Bear and a Sidewinder. Now to wait for the goods and see if all the good info Keith taught me has stuck so I can get these printers up and running. Stay tuned!

I’ve beaten this planetary motor as much as I can. It had some great things going for it.
- Great retractions
- Super easy to install
- Powerful
- Looks cool
It does have one downfall.
- Quality isn’t as good as the Bondtech extruder.

Now that I’m content with PLA it’s time to dial in some 0.6mm nozzle PETG goodness at 0.3mm layer height. First print is okay. Stringing is sadness and my overhangs are baaad but I’ll have this dialed in soon enough.
Btw... part strength is incredible with fat layers. I mean incredib...

Tuned for LA1.5 but I have one for regular ole Linear Advance 1.0.
It prints great, it prints fast, it’s actually pretty awesome. Layer heights from 0.2mm to 0.4mm are safe but you may need to increase base temps so it doesn’t chug.
Have fun and don’t forget to share some imag...

Some of you may have seen images of this printer in the background of my other printers. I’ve also called it my secret printer. It has a name and it’s called Abrams because it’s a tank.
Designed and made by Barry Danks aka RC-CNC as a prusa on wheels on my request. It runs the MK52 m...

Still many kinks to work out but it’s printing. The checklist is as follows for our todo:
- Speed up mesh probe
- Fix resume feature
- Fix filament sensor bug (enabling while printing causes a repeated filament change)
- Ending print stalls for a while before resuming...

I did a little more tuning and it works. I’ll share a profile here soon as well roger new profiles. I’m still knee deep in BTT002 bird testing. The one Keith got died so it’s back to sending Keith bugs via messenger and figuring them out the hard way.
I’m going to bed and hopefully...

Such a struggle with this printer. It prints beautifully and is feature rich but it’s been an adventure to keep running.
For the longest time I thought I had a firmware issue. Nope. Keith made me a firmware and it didn’t work. Tried motors tried testing voltages and so on. Nothing.

I tried the exact ABS profile I recently made BUT I noticed that ASA is a little pickier. While the part is very strong I can break the parts along the layer lines which means I’m not getting enough layer adhesion.
