Slowly but surely the fancy unreleased BTT002 board will work as a direct swap in replacement for the stock Einsy board.
It’s just past 1:45am here and I’m exhausted but thanks to Keith we’ve got the foundation to a working firmware for this board. So what is it?
A 32bit direct swap for the stock MK3s Einsy board. We, Keith basically, are working to bring every feature. Power panic, filament runout sensor, pinda 2 temperature calibration and so on but the firmware will also include all the basic features of your MK3s but you get Marlin 2.0 and way better stepper drivers.

The board is setup to use the same cables as stock so just plug and play for the most part. A few pins are swapped around but for now Keith has everything running after some tests on my printer and he’s kindly walking me through everything so I can be smarter and help people looking to upgrade once the board launches. If you didn’t know Keith works direct with Marlin development and manages all the Bigtreetech board firmwares and all the creality boards. In the end we will have an official example firmware for this board and it’ll be maintained as marlin changes and fixes things.
So what should we expect??? Far better performance and better options. I’m running mine on the suggested TMC2209 drivers which run far cooler than the Einsy 2130 drivers and have far less issues overall. My first test prints even with PID tuning issues have far less artifacting using the exact same gcode just edited for linear advance 1.5 and Marlin specific mesh gcode.
When will board be released??? I have no clue. I was sent a test unit and about 10 others are out there. I’ve yet to see a single one work on a MK3s so hopefully with Keith getting one soon him and I can test till there is a working firmware.
What deviations am I doing from stock? I’m going to add features like S curve acceleration, junction deviation, graphics to the screen if you upgrade to the nicer 12864 I’m messing with now, mesh fade and so on. Basically you’ll have a well tuned firmware with all the enhancements Marlin has done over the years that hasn’t made it to Prusa’s fork of marlin.
I’m going to pause some filament profile goodness to get this working with Keith while we’ve made some headway. I’m hoping to be fully functional in a week or so and get back to profiles full force including ones for a stock prusa with this board.
Now to go get some shut eye. If you need me I’ll be back on Monday. Gonna take a needed me day once I wake up. Have a great rest of the weekend!!!
