Some of you may have seen images of this printer in the background of my other printers. I’ve also called it my secret printer. It has a name and it’s called Abrams because it’s a tank.
Designed and made by Barry Danks aka RC-CNC as a prusa on wheels on my request. It runs the MK52 magnetic bed, BMG extruder with V6 hotend, and now after today’s final mod the SKR V1.3 with TMC2208 drivers in UART.
If the fans weren’t running it would be near silent. It’s a very stunning and unique design that shows true strength. All I can say is V wheels rock for silence and paired with a 32bit board now I can swap motors to 0.9 and dial out the last of the minor artifacts.
The fun fact about this is thanks to Keith and the BTT002 project I was able to figure out the firmware, debug some issues, and make it work on my own! Go me and my Marlin 2.0 abilities that are still lacking but I feel more confident in.
In all this is an awesome machine made in the USA and it prints great. It’s also what I’ve been testing the Nozzle X on so it’s printed plenty of CF and quite a bit of PLA. Now that it’s back in order it’s time to get back to printing.
Stay tuned for more of this project and all its glory. Oh and here is the test cube after swapping the board that you saw printing.
