Demo build 1.1
Added 2024-07-19 05:30:16 +0000 UTCThe complete demo (build 1.1 with competitions, 4 horses, and some bug fixes) is now out for everyone. It can be found on THIS old post. The installer files in the post were updated to new ones.
Regardless of what version of the demo you might have played in the past, if you are still playing it I recommended updating to this version as some common bugs were fixed in it. If you have a previous version installed, you simply install the updated version as if it was your first time installing it. The installer writes over the existing game files.

i can no longer install the demo. the last months i feel like i've been paying for nothing. i know this is all held togetger by one person and i appreciate the efforts, but please focus on the people who are actually paying for a while.

Of all the indie games about horses I've been following, this one is the only one that not only delivered on all the promised goals but surpassed them. I'm super excited <3

2024-07-22 15:21:53 +0000 UTCYeah this is a weird problem with the demo that I havenโt found an explanation to. ๐ค Originally the first couple of demo versions (with snow) had this problem on lower tier hardware, but after the removal of the snow shader the problem went away. Then about 6 months to a year ago I started receiving complaints about this again from some players. The odd thing is that now itโs mostly from players that had previously played the demo with no problem, until one day the flickering started. Considering the demo has been the same since Sept 2022, the issue cannot come from the game itself. My best guess is that some common graphics card (or integrated graphics processor) has had a recent driver update that is somehow incompatible with the demo ground shader. If you know the name of your graphics card, could you send it to me via a direct message? Some things you can try: Install the newest Visual C++ (an installation link is found on this post https://www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-fix-most-68665767 scroll down to โThe following component(s) are requiredโฆโ) Roll back the latest graphics driver update. Then if that doesnโt help try updating to the newest driver version.

2024-07-21 18:16:05 +0000 UTCI work heavily in game development, so I know the process. Calling anyone who is actively supporting the game a problem isn't a way to diffuse a situation. It wasn't clearly stated that the steam release was just the demo release. Obviously a lot of people are confused so I know it's not just me. The post made is sound as if the only reason the game wasn't fully available is due to the steam wait time. That's why people are requesting the full version here. Of course people are confused. We kept hearing "full release" on steam, nobody is going to read that and think it's a demo especially since we've had the demo on patreon for a long time.

Maybe she'll elaborate more on that and it won't be as complicated :) I understand what you mean though! We don't want to put extra work on the creator!

I don't know how you sent this message thinking you weren't part of the problem. I am trying to bring awareness as to how much of an ask that really is. The developer already has a lot on her plate, and requesting the full game to be on Patreon is another hoop for her to jump through and prepare. Especially when the release date is in 2 weeks, which isn't long at all. I am growing a bit tired having to explain my point, which I think I've made quite clear. This is in no way an attack on you or anyone who did ask a similar question. I'm just requesting that we work towards being thoughtful and patient throughout this process. You're more than welcome to respond to this, but I will be moving forward from this conversation. Good day!

She cannot bypass Steam's requirements and it is simply a waiting game with them. She's working as fast as she can, let's not stress her out by complaining about the delay. Keep the spirits and excitement high! It's coming! We just have to be patient! And to the creator herself, THANK YOU! Thank you for your hard work, for the updates you provide us to keep us informed. Thank you for allowing us the ability to give inputs/suggestions on the game. You truly are doing an amazing job and I, for one, am extremely proud of all the work you have put into not only developing the game, but also the community for the game! My comment was towards the people asking for an added exclusive benefit, since the demo is getting released to the public. I understand and am sympathetic that the demo isnโt working for some. And to the people that were confused about the demo release being the steam release, this comment was also not directed towards you. Hope that clears things up! :)

2024-07-19 21:45:59 +0000 UTCI agree with Nana, I don't think patience is the issue. Especially because now a lot of us are having trouble with the demo, and a lot of us can't even use it. I've had the demo on my computer for 2 years now, however, when I tried to use the new updated one with fixed bugs my computer recognized it as a virus (That's totally fine, I don't mind the bugs). We appreciate how hard she works on the game, and I don't think anyone is being out of line. They're just confused and asking questions.

The game will be released incredibly soon, so asking the developer to also release something extra for Patreon supporters is a BIG ask. She's the only developer working on this game. Our new benefits to being Patreon supporters is having the choice in certain animation styles and getting to pick between a select options for upcoming features. The game will be released in August, so who cares if everyone gets access to the demo? We've already had this feature available to us for over 2 years, so its more than fine that the public gets to try it out too. See yall in august :3
