So I streamed for a while today, did as much as I could on Ayn's colours and background. i want to get the base image done before adding on the extras, as usual. But I think I'm in a good spot, I just need to work out a few more values like on the face as well as the little extra un shaded bits.
With the background and Ayn all inked, i usually lay down a tone map before anything else. This helps me figure out the basic light sources and overall balance (not final yet either) but helps me plan ahead for the shading. Often times tone maps can just be refined over and over until they can...
