Clock

Here's a wall clock!

My plan for this film so far has been to do 2D characters and 3D backgrounds- but these kinds of rules raise lots of questions. What if a piece of furniture is also a character kind of??

In this instance, I've elected to make this clock guy 3D. Other anthropomorphic home wares might still be 2D if I feel like it, because these rules are completely made up. They're not real!!!

I enjoyed doing the 3D clock though- this film is almost entirely set indoors, so I suppose I've got a lot of knick-knacks to make and interiors to design! Only this particular room has really bad interior design, which is why the clock's pendulum is getting stuck on something.

I always have loved the teeth in some of your characters. Was the sharp teeth inspired by oni in Japanese lore? Sharp teeth and weird creatures like that are always so fun to draw to me lol.

Oh God, what is it counting down to?

I love the unique style of your 2D characters so much, but the way you make anything in 3D is so god damned impressive. You've mastered both while still maintaining a unique "look" for each style, and I love the way they mesh together in the finished product. Throat Notes is my favorite example of you mixing the two styles together. I'm dying to see the new one you're working on after seeing the walk cycles you did for the animals - can't wait!
