Changes to the Patreon Pricing Model
Added 2017-12-08 06:47:31 +0000 UTCIf you haven't been notified already, you most likely will soon. Patreon will be changing the way it handles pricing, moving service fees from the creators to the patrons, at 2.9 percent plus 35 cents per charge (so a $1.00 pledge with fees attached would end up being more like $1.38). This can be good for creators, as they get to keep more of their pledged amounts, but places a greater financial burden on you patrons, especially on Patreons like mine which charge per item, rather than monthly.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say it that if you prefer not to foot the added charges and end up dropping my Patreon or switching to a lower-cost tier, I won't take it personally, even if I have to go the ramen-dinner route more often. ;)

Appears the good news is that they are not going to change the fee schedule for now
2017-12-14 06:11:07 +0000 UTCas i said: 1/month = once per month. Basically before i was paying $1 per page, up to 5 pages per month as a set monthly limit of 5. Now i've set the monthly limit to 1 and will be paying 5$ once only. I still selected the $1 tier (in this case i was forced, but on your other patreon there are one or 2 levels before the 5$ tier)

2017-12-10 01:54:53 +0000 UTCI'm sticking around for now. I value supporting my favorite artists over standing on principle over a few bucks a month.

2017-12-09 19:19:03 +0000 UTCAfter careful deliberation, since this hurts multi-pledging, i'll just agglomerate the $1 that i'm paying for up to 5/month to a single $5 that i'll be paying 1/month.

2017-12-09 07:19:03 +0000 UTCI would really like to continue my support, but patreon's behaviour in this matter is completely unacceptable. Their virtue-signalling with money filched from patrons pockets is THEFT, plain and simple. They are holding YOU hostage to extort money.
2017-12-08 14:59:57 +0000 UTCBut... I still want to support you, I came here to do that! It breaks my heart to be pushed away because Patreon decided to shift it from creators to patrons.

2017-12-08 10:56:19 +0000 UTCWhile the change will be a bit of a burden on me, I'm lucky in that I only support three creators (four if you count the fact that I support your normal Patreon and your Sabrina-Online Patreon). I'll just have to work a few more hours of overtime every month. (I wouldn't want you to have to eat ramen dinners more often. LOL.) I'm not going to change my levels of commitment to you, or anyone else. I'll just have to wait a little while longer before I can add anyone.

2017-12-08 09:47:20 +0000 UTCI know Sabrina Online was a comic that I grew to love as a furry in the fandom, so I don't intend to change my patreon commitment at this time, but I do appreciate (like others, more than likely) that you are being upfront about it - versus going about it the way Patreon is going about it - just silently letting it kick in and hope no one notices. Ultimately, I think they should have given the creator a choice how they want things handled on their end - the fees and such on their portion before distribution or on the client's side, letting the creator take more. Keep on keeping on, man. :)
2017-12-08 08:14:38 +0000 UTCThank you for being upfront and transparent about what's going on. I've read so many of these messages and it breaks my heart that they are doing this to you. I blame net neutrality for this. This happened too close to "d-day." All the best and good luck. I love your work.
