I've been looking forward to posting this strip for weeks, I have to admit.
The reasons pistols are only handed out when needed are because it's not very smart to carry around loaded pistols on sea. Asides from the obvious reasons it could go wrong with ye olde weapons, they wouldn't even fire in times of need because they'd be wet.
