Added 2023-02-15 10:57:39 +0000 UTCHi friends, I've been thinking about stopping taking birth control. I really only take it because I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome, but it causes me awful cramps that last 3 weeks of the month and headaches.
I manly take it because PCOS causes me to have a bunch of painful pimples on my face, chest and back, which makes me feel really sad, since I like doing my makeup and feeling pretty.
The birth control pill always stops working well for me within a year, so my pimples come back and I have to change pills.
I don't think the pain is worth it anymore. I'll go to the dermatologist and ask if it's possible for me to take Accutane so I don't have to worry about painful pimples anymore, but also can be free of the birth control that makes me so sick.
I know Accutane is a very heavy medicine and he may not want to prescribe it, but I think it's my only hope to get rid of them.
I'm honestly hesitant on stopping my birth control because I know how bad the pimples got and how ugly and defeated I feel, but I think it's a necessary change for now, and hopefully and figure out how to deal with the pimples.
If nothing works I can always go back to birth control I guess.
