Weekly Roundup 134 - New Playable Build Out Now!

Hi everyone!


It's that time! As promised last week I have a new playable build of the Bindmancer Ready for you:

So with that in mind. Lets talk about this weeks progress!


1: What's New?

This week I worked on a combo of new animations and some gameplay improvements!

The most noticeable animation improvement was some extra transition and reaction images to the doorway prisoner between breaking down pieces of the bondage.

The other two prisoner types got some love as well!

The chest mimic also has some damage states added to it. So you'll need to hit it more then once to defeat it.

In addition to those I also worked on a number of bugs and polish items for gameplay which include:

So there's about 3 solid weeks of dev work in here since the late December update. (January was taken up by the bunny animation pack.)


2: What's Next?

Next week is going to be spent on my end focusing on some marketing, in particular making a promotional video for a expo submission.

But after that I want to work on a bigger new feature for the game. It's either going to be making a start on an experience and level-up system. Or work on the first boss battle that happens after level 5. Both should take a few weeks to implement so I'll ponder it!


What do you prefer coming first? Leveling up the Bindmancer and improving the reward loop in each dungeon floor? Or a boss battle?

It would be nice to see a list of characters we saved from the devices as part of a collection in the gallery. Because so far i have to re-open the game to see an rng of a character in the bound animated scenarios

Hmm... As much as I'd love to see a boss battle, I think some kind of experience and leveling system would be beneficial to have first. I'm also curious as to when gold/treasure is going to become meaningful. Will there be items or upgrades we can purchase at shops/from vendors stuck in the tower, or is it meant purely as a 'score' system?

The game is just Wonderfull, and it keeps getting Better. I`d prefer a boss fight for the next Level!

When you try to interact with a standing prison without deactivating the four crystals around it first, it rams the dildo extra hard into the prisoner. It would be great to have similar interactions with the other prison types and also with cultists you've trapped on a sybian.

The game is coming along awesome, and the new improvements are tremendous! As for what to do next...I'd say a boss fight would be the ideal thing to add, as it would add a good cap-off to the 5 floor run that we have now, and could definitely mix things up gameplay-wise. That said, a level-up system wouldn't be bad either! Looking forward to however it plays out!

sounds like modern paper mario I think just xp system would be better.

I def feel like having a level up system would be better to start on first, especially since it'll let you balance boss fights better if you know what powers and abilities players may have at any given point. Also, maybe instead of XP, the player levels up via purchasing upgrades with the coins?

You should introduce an option to torture the prisoner, maybe if the player select the wrong lettere the machine increase the intensity..
