The Nextlander Watchcast 045: Judgment Night (1993)

We're smack-dab in the middle of our Some Guys Are Coming to Kill Us theme, and this week we talk at length about one of the greatest licensed soundtracks of all time in 1993's Judgment Night! And we talk about the movie too, if you're into that sort of thing.

I own the album on Vinyl you can’t put Mike Patton, Ice-T, DeLaSoul and Slayer on a soundtrack and not expect little kid me to love it for 2 decades

I got the album solely because of Faith No More's participation. Loved it. I even got the Another Body Murdered single. It has a few nice remixes, but they are so censored, they're almost beyond enjoyable. I did like (most of) the rest of the album, tough. I didn't get around to watch the movie until many, many years later. I can't say I enjoyed it one percent of how much I enjoyed the soundtrack. It could – and should – have been a lot better. It had many of the "right" elements: A somewhat decent cast, it was well shot, and the storyline wasn't completely unbelievable. It might've been an ok movie if they just spent a few more minutes writing it. The soundtrack did not deserve this movie.
