Even though it's not Saturday evening yet, I wanted to share some news about my ongoing work.
Thank you all for voting in the poll! It seems the Longsword Overhaul is your top choice, with Greatsword Speed-up coming in second place.
I've already started working on the Longsword Overhaul. The animations will be similar to the shortsword ones, but with more powerful movements.
An interesting discovery: A helpful user on Nexus pointed out that vanilla longsword power attacks use almost identical animations for all directions. I checked, and they're right! The developers clearly ran out of time during development. During my experiments, I found that power attack animations are actually easier to replace than normal attacks (they don't need animation notification settings), so I'll work on those too.
I also tried experimenting with speeding up greatsword normal attacks, but I'm facing an unexpected challenge. Even when I use the same animation notification method that worked for shortswords and longswords, the combo chain doesn't work for greatswords. I've looked through the data but can't figure out what's wrong. It seems the greatsword work will take more time to complete.
