KnockBack, Episode 192: Fight Club

While it's true that the first rule of Fight Club is not to talk about Fight Club, we felt like a two hour podcast of silence wouldn't be very enticing. Thus, we're willing to break the sacred code to present to you a discussion all about David Fincher's 1999 film based upon Chuck Palahniuk's 1996 novel. The story revolves around an unnamed man played by Edward Norton who encounters a man named Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt. The result is an introspective, Generation X-infused movie that focuses a spotlight on the hopelessness deep inside all of us, one that comes out in fits of consumerism, despair, and even violence. It's that latter word that's the true focus of Fight Club, though: The battering life can deliver all of us.

Edward Norton's best performance is the bagel in Sausage Party

David

LOL.

Colin Moriarty

You probably would’ve understood it back then if you watched it 100 times like the rest of us 😆

Dom posa

Haven't listened to it.

Colin Moriarty

Probably something like Ali, Me, Dana, then Dagan.

Colin Moriarty

Hey Colin, you mentioned being a Tool fan. I'm wondering what you thought of Fear Inoculum the album? (Still can't get over that album title a 5-6 months before COVID 😂)

Col, I’m gonna need the official Moriarty ranking of who’s got the dance skills in the family.

NeO JD

Thank you Colin and friends. I have sent a “wall of text” for Colin. I do apologize but I believe it was important for me to say

Markeus

Interesting. I didn't know anything about that.

Colin Moriarty

Yeah man, they're great. Have fun!

How do I send private feedback to Colin where he may read it ?

Markeus

I was so happy when you mentioned the 8 bit guy. I’ve been watching him for years, he’s so good.

Russell Garrett

Only while watching this did I remember that my brother had an actual fight club where he and his mates would beat the hell out of each other... Great episode though. Really interesting point by Colin about that primitive existentialism, you could write a whole thesis on that point alone.

Reuben Barrett

It’s cool to know you are tool fan Colin, I’m going seeing them in Dublin with my grandad in may non of my friends like them lol

Jack Doheny

Hey Col, if you’re wondering why Chuck went back to the well with Fight Club, he mentioned in his Rogan appearance that an accountant at his literary agency pretty much robbed him and others who worked for the agency blind and that he was close to broke. He pretty much received no payment for fight club 2 or anything after till the news broke of the embezzling.

Kenneth Oms

=)

Colin Moriarty

LOTS OF RULE BREAKING GOING ON HERE, BOYS!
