2024-05-01 22:09:24 +0000 UTCThe FCC regulates subtitles for cable, but not for streaming, as in there's quality requirements for cable, but for streaming the only requirement is that if it was once on cable with subs, subs have to exist for the streamed version. This is what happens when they're not held to any standards in a low margin section of business. Basically, the Americans with Disabilities Act didn't anticipate streaming. It should be a relatively easy fix, but you know how the government is with technology from under two decades ago.

2024-04-30 12:42:09 +0000 UTCCan I just say that Amazon's subtitles are awful? For example, at 15:20, the subtitles say "tackled who", but Charlie actually says "technically". Even with Hazbin Hotel, which is an Amazon Original, they mess up the subtitles. In one episode Alastor says "That's a lot less fun," but the subtitles say "That's a lot less hot." And the worst part of it is that I never hear anybody call them out.
