2023-09-29 01:41:31 +0000 UTCI loved the choice of videos John. These grab bags make me very happy. And yes those “C’mon son’s” are in order -I don’t really have an ideal nickname. Whenever someone gives me one I think I’ll be okay with whatever they think of tbh. -(The local movie theater where I had my first job was the first Marcus Theater, aka the "Orpheum," it popped up in Ripon, Wisconsin, in 1935, thanks to Ben Marcus. And, boom, that's where the Marcus Corporation, the movie theater chain we all know, got its start!). The movie theater had a cozy vibe if that makes sense & we were a (still are even though I don’t work there anymore lol) regular first run movie theater with one screen. And I do have a small but sweet memory that happened while I was working there, I’m working at the concession stand with my co-worker, Sarah, just doing our regular popcorn and drinks routine. Then, this sweet elderly couple walks in, looking all nostalgic. They used to practically live at our theater back in the day. They start talking, sharing memories about watching "Gone with the Wind" and "Casablanca" here. And Sarah, she's a walking movie encyclopedia, starts dropping trivia about those films, like how "Casablanca" won three Oscars. It was like getting a mini history lesson during our shift! 😄🍿🎬. -You know, it's kind of funny and frustrating how the word "woke" has been totally misused and appropriated these days. I mean, it was used in the civil rights movement to describe being alert to social and political issues, especially those related to racial injustice, right? It was a way to say, "Hey, I'm awake to what's going on, and I'm ready to make a positive change." It's like being socially aware and proactive. But now, it feels like it's thrown around for just about anything, and often as an insult. Like, if you care about social issues or express empathy, you might get called "woke" as if it's a bad thing. It's like the word lost its original meaning somewhere along the way. It's important to remember that being "woke" is supposed to be about being informed and compassionate about societal problems. But when people use it to mock or dismiss someone's genuine concerns, it's frustrating because it dilutes the whole idea of social awareness. We've got to be careful with how we use language, you know? Oh, I’m sorry for rambling. -To be honest, not many of the acts that come through my town really grab my interest. Most of them are smaller acts, which is totally fine, but so many of them are not my cup of tea. Plus, I'm kind of a homebody. I enjoy the comfort of my own space, you know? And being autistic, while the big crowds may not be a problem for other autistic people they aren't really my thing. They cause a lot of anxiety. So, when I want to catch a live show from one of my favorite artists or bands, I'll just fire up YouTube or scroll and search for a live album on Apple Music. Without leaving the comfort of my home I always have the best seat as well😆 Sure, there's something special about being in a crowd at a live concert, but I've found my own cozy way of enjoying the music without the sensory overload. 🎶🏡😊. -Now, here's what I thought of: I start grooving subtly, like I’m doing a secret dance that only the wall knows about. I slide my feet a little, bob my head, maybe add in a little shoulder shimmy – all while looking cool and casual. It's a dance I call the “Wallflower Waltz”

2023-09-11 17:04:02 +0000 UTCAwwwwwwww yeeeeaaaah 😎 I haven't commented in awhile so let me just get one more in for good measure....Awwwwwwww yeeeeaaaah 😉😎 Hearing everyone's answers to the questionare has been so much fun, y'all are such a cool and lovely bunch 🥰 The Psych-verse is such a wonderful place to be isn't it?! I never want to leave 😭 So thank you for this lovely dose of odds and ends John, it's always such a joy. One of my favorite 'wait for iiiiit' moments is when Mary says it (season 4, ep 16). I just adore Mary so much 🥰 And of course the Yang and Yin episodes are top tier rewatches. Some random notes: Your supine cutaway was superb 😂 and shouts out to "Señor pantalones del fuego"! 🤣 Oh and 'Daredevils!!' (season 3, ep 3) is an absolute MOMENT. Gives me literal chills everytime. But also, I remember being so excited seeing Mercedes McNab on one of my rewatches because I had finally watched Buffy and recognized her as Harmony 😆 And 'Let's Doo-Wap it Again' (season 6, ep 13) is another favorite. Love when Gus gets to shine and I always love the moments when you get to see how well they truly know eachother. I love their friendship so much. Also, love the rendition of the theme song in that episode. Another fun thing to look forward to on your rewatches! Also, please never apologize for your c'mon son reflex, us Psychos more than get the impulse to say it every time 😆 Anyways, as for the Schitts Creek recommendation, you have my vote! I was late to the game on that show but once I finally watched it, it quickly became a favorite. I highly recommend watching on your own time if you don't react to it. Well, its bittersweet knowing This is Gus is next because I dont want the journey to end. But I really am excited to hear your thoughts and see your reaction, it's gonna be a ride! I'm very curious to know how you would rank the three films too. Anyways, lets do this! C'mon son!🍍🖤

2023-09-07 20:49:41 +0000 UTCI've seen this show so many times now that every actor from psych that i see in anything else i can just place who they played in psych now and it makes me happy seeing them in anything else because of that. not too much to say about these highlights anymore but i guess if i was to give a show suggestion i would probably say "once upon a time". not sure how many people will be into that but i think it has a interesting take on all the classic fairytales and is just a pretty enjoyable show and just different type of genre than psych if you wanted that.

That's cool that you ran into that dude at Comic con at the airport bar or what have you. It's nice when you meet someone and they have a good sense of humor about things. Especially celebrities. Not all are affable. But they're people too (usually...🤖) and you never know what someone is going through. I remember when I lived in So Cal and I saw celebrities quite often. Some were my regulars at cafes I used to work in. But anyway..... 33and⅓????? Interesting blurb there hoss. 😉 And.... yeah the whole no nickname thing. I don't know why this was never something I was bestowed upon with. Maybe I just don't have that type of personality that makes people do that to you in the first place. I don't know. That was the tour where a shit ton of Christians picketed and didn't want them or him there. But the show was packed!!!! Lol. This was back in Virginia- the Bible belt mind you. It was all over the news and people were pissed off. It was pretty funny. I was one of the freak kids in high school so I just felt warm and fuzzy inside when he came to town. It was like finally! Someone like me only successful and a little older has arrived to piss these lame dirtbags off. Those people pissed me off so it felt rewarding. I'm Christian now. But I'm not one of those Christians. You should've been there man. I think you would've dug it. White Zombie was one of my favs too! 😉💙 OK well I missed seeing you and it was a pleasure as usual. And yes please, I need a “Bear Universe” for us to live among our own! To touch on one of the episodes discussed- I agree that the Daredevils episode definitely was striking for sure…it’s one of the first that made me see how profound the show could actually be. And I remember checking out your initial reaction to it as well and I was the exact same with being in my feels during that scene. 🥹 In all sincerity…you, my guy, are the absolute rarest gem of a person and I’m so glad to have joined this fun journey with you.
