Imagine all that nuance with the fishmen mirroring real world issues in a kid's comic in 1999! One piece deals with a lot of such themes and in that way is really educational for kids :)

2023-09-14 02:49:32 +0000 UTCI guess the whole point of Arlong at this moment is to introduce the concept of Fishmen early on, and yes, I agree with what you're saying, because in One Piece, it's always a new villain more dangerous/powerful/valuable (in terms of bounty) than the last, so there's always new ones coming up. But doesn't necessarily means that the new ones will be more threatening/scary than the previous one. But I'd also like to point out that all these character arcs in the manga are way longer, so I guess the simple translation and cutting out things, ends up feeling that "something's missing". I particularly love the Arlong arc, because it has more fight scenes, little character details and some specific dialogue that I miss. But all in all, I was very satisfied with how they adapted this, because I have to admit, when I was going to watch these last two episodes, I got worried with what they would change lol

It really has nothing to do with the watch along but I just wanted to say Thank you all for putting out the content , the reactions , the reviews, etc. because your channel has helped me pull out of some tough times. The way you pull your audience in is amazing. Keep up the amazing work. Also side note, If you decide to watch the O.P anime I promise even though it is a long series its one that does not disappoint ! Hope yall have an amazing day!
