Rocky Tide Pools

Happy August :)

Here's a little set of photos from a shoot in Cambria from last month.  Photos by Balke64 on IG.

Rainy Day Hotel

Last post of July :)

From a rainy day in SF, shooting in one of my favorite downtown hotels.  I have a lot of photos I love from this set, so you'll probably see another group of these in the not-so-distant future.

This shoot is particularly memorable for the guy in...

My Favorite Dunes Trip

This set is from my favorite trip to the dunes.  It's a relatively large set (sorry!) because we just got such amazing light and tides the whole time, and I love so many of the photos.  I have a few prints of these :)

Another Trio

Here's the uncensored version of the photo from my IG story today.  Also a solo shot from the same location.  This location was particularly difficult to get to, and we were happy to model in the shady canyon, smells and all :)

Windy Beach

Here's a small set of photos I took of the lovely Marion.

Sunrise at the Lake

One  thing that's fun about shooting at sunrise, besides the glorious light, is just how quickly that light changes.  You go from cool tones to warm tones in just a handful of minutes.  Here are a few shots from our first morning venture out in Mammoth.

Hot Springs

Some shots from last week's visit to the hot springs!  It's always nice when I get to dip into warm waters every once in a while.

Cove

Here's a fun little set by Derrick Wee.  This photographer was visiting LA and turned to me for suggestions on a location, so I brought him to a little rocky cove I like.  I spent this morning in Cambria taking photos in a similar rocky cove, so it reminded of this set :)

More Dunes

I'm off to Paso Robles!  In the meantime, here are a few film shots I took of googly from a couple years ago.

Windy Rock

From last November.  We drove around and saw some cool looking rocks near the road on a particularly windy and rainy day.  Luckily, interesting weather usually makes for nice photos.

Trio

Here's a set of photos of Sarissle, Googlymonstor, and I from the dunes last year.  The first two are instax scans, and the last two photos are digital.  I've been itching to revisit the dunes again :)

portraits

Here are some portraits I took with some old film (these were taken on Sunday).

Models are googlymonstor and anudemuse on IG.

Pescadero Stream

Part of the reason that Patreon appeals to me is the ability to post uncensored work.  Which is why it saddens me to have to "censor" this mini-set (my face can clearly be seen otherwise).  However, I still love these photos and figured they were worth a share.

Mz Kim

Made it back from Mammoth!  Can't wait to see how the photos turn out.

Back in May, I got together with Mz Kim while she was visiting LA to take photos of each other.  I was so upset to realize I didn't bring my film to the shoot (I had somehow packed my film camera, but no...

Barnyard Adventures

Hello from Mammoth!  I still have one more day here, but I'll probably have some photos to share in the next few weeks from this trip.

In the meantime, here is a shoot from last fall in Point Reyes.  There was an old barn, and we checked it out on a very cold, foggy, rainy, ...

More Mammoth Film

Anyone else in So Cal feel that earthquake today?

In honor of my trip to Mammoth tomorrow, here are some portraits I took of Googlymonstor from our last trip.  I was having trouble with the lighting and didn't know how the film would turn out, so I kept everything pretty simple.  ...

Anza Borrego

Here's a small set from a little mini-trip out to Anza Borrego.  It turned out that the dried river bed was full of prickly little needles, so my legs were full of them.  As per usual, I was eternally thankful for Dan's first aid kit, as I spent the car ride back tweezing out all of the...

Random Polaroid Attempts

Here are some older polaroids that I found (and scanned).  Nothing noteworthy - I thought I could take selfies with a medium format camera with a polaroid back, but apparently that was too difficult...I could do little more than sit it in front of a mirror :P  You can see the camera a l...

Mammoth Hot Springs

I'll be heading back to Mammoth bright and early Friday morning, and thought I'd share some of my personal photography from last summer.  I love to take photos, but I'm a little reserved when it comes to asking people to pose for me.

Here are some shots of Sarissle in the hot sp...

Oil and Water

Back from my shorter hair days, Dan and I once played around in the studio with oil and water (as well as different colors).  I could never post these photos on IG, so I figure this is a perfect home for them.

Water is one of my favorite themes with nude photography, whether it be in a...

I usually loathe wearing wardrobe, but 2ndlife Photography always has fun ideas, so I make sure to bring some things.  I loved this little series with this dress in the backyard.

Glacier Views

While we were planning our trip to Iceland, this was a spot I was determined to find.  I had seen this specific view in photos before, but since it's not a "destination" and simply a "view", it took a lot of google mapping and guessing to find.  Thankfully, the photographer, Dan, was pa...

Dillon Beach

I thought I'd also share a few photos from sets I haven't posted much from (though I'll certainly make posts for my favorite sets...I just have to do some organizing in my file folders first).  This was from a shoot at Dillon Beach, where there were lots of people wandering around, which mad...

Reflections

By the way, here are the photos from the post that IG kept deleting!

I like the way the reflections keep me mostly anonymous (or, at least, it's ambiguous).

Another Window

Here are a few more self-portraits that I like.  This time, from my window in my old SF apartment.  You can tell my older photos from (a) my shorter hair and (b) my slightly thinner shape.  It's kind of funny to have this nude record of my body through time :)

Oakland Window

I thought I'd test out posting on patreon by sharing a  couple of self-portraits I took by my old living room window in Oakland.  I've sort of stopped taking many self-portraits, but I've recently been wondering if I should try again.
