New filename format

With the releases this month, I'm starting the work to update the openforge file name format.  All releases this month will be on the new format, and over the months, I'll tackle coherent chunks of the historical files to get them moved over.  I'm starting first with Separate Wall, and ...

Sewer Corners

Now we've got new texture sewer corners!  I'm trying an experiment with this set, by making the texture go all the way down on the faces you wouldn't normally clip on.  This is true both for the triplex versions (pictured) and the included bases.  Also, this is only one entry on MM...

Sewer Sluice Connections

Now your sluices no longer have to be straight!  The sewer rebuild is going at full steam, and this month we get all the basics nailed down.

This release has sluice corners (with options for both floor texture or riser texture on the edge), Tees and Crosses.

I've made one change ...

August 2021 Tile Voting

It's that time of month again!  Last month I finally dove head first into redoing sewers, and probably this month will be continuing to build that out.  Your votes however won't be lost since the vote totals flow over from month to month.

Also, if you have not see the new setup f...

Sewer Sluices

Last one for the month, we have the straight sluices.  Next month we'll get some ways to change sluice direction.

Sewer Risers

This is release two in the new sewer set.  Risers.  These come in 4 heights, each a half an inch higher.  The lowest (platforms) can also be used as a second floor style for the sewer set!

Sewer Floors

It has been a long time coming.  Sewers are one of my first really interesting sets, and actually, the old sewer texture inspired the creation of cut-stone.  Well, it's been a top vote-getter for a LONG time, it is finally time to start the new sewers.

I struggled for a long time...

July 2021 Tile Voting

I made a few changes to the vote this month.  For one thing, which set is next was starting to become too spread thin, so I collapsed ruined sets in with their base set. Second thing: I realize that the thick wall sets were never really getting updates, so I merged that in with the next set ...

Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Niches

The vote this month was for Dungeon Stone Separate Wall Niches.  It's been a long time coming since these were initially released for wall-on-tile.  I made some modifications to make this able to fir A, BA and IA.

Dungeon Stone Ruined Collapsed Tunnel Section

Sometimes, what I end up producing in a month just isn't what I expected.  Two people suggested something similar in this month's vote, a collapsed, ruined set for closing off a hallway.  How many times in a video game is a hallway or intersection got one or more paths cut off by a coll...

Ironbound Timber Corner Pillars

We're getting close to having all the pieces we need for The Smithy.  A couple more parts releases and we'll be able to put it all together.  Here we have the pillars used for the smithy,  strong, ironbound timber pillars.

June 2021 Tile Voting

I'm sorry, I completely spaced sending the vote out this month.  The form was ready, and I think in my mind I had sent it out.

Anyway, here is this months tile voting.  Depending on the results, if the outcomes are a longer project I may have to punt that to next month since the ...

Towne Railings

As we work eventually towards the Yawning Portal, one thing we need are railings.  This set doesn't follow established open lock tile layouts, but it's a very specific use case.  Further, since these need to hang in the air, for now at least I have not bothered with magnetic versions - ...

Mud to Cobble transition tiles

This month, the winner of the vote was City Streets, mud to cobble transition tiles.  I'm very happy with how these came out.  You have 2 for the rougher cobble pattern, and 2 for the circular fan style.

Mortar and Stone Building Facade Tiles

Last month, y'all voted for the smithy.  I'm approaching the building facades as a longer term project each, so last month I did the floors, and now here are the walls.  Upcoming will be the roof, the scatter and some wall tiles specific to the vision of the smithy.

Dungeon Stone Large Curved (6x+8x) Cardinal Doors and Walls

This was something of an oversight on the original design for the large curved set.  there's no way with the existing setup to have doors that are in the 4 cardinal directions.  This set resolves that for both 6x and 8x.  It creates a few new tiles:

  • 6x.curved.AC - Wall ...

Curved Concave Risers (3x & 5x)

After looking at some use cases of the curved stairs, I realized that there was a pretty serious gap in the approach - how to fill in the area next to them and make that useful for play.  So that resulted in this release. and I couldn't be happier.  I think these make for some real awes...

Building Facades: Large Paver Floors

This release is related to the winning item for April votes.  Building Facades got the nod, specifically the Smithy.  This will take multiple releases, as I need new floors, walls and roofs for it, never mind the scatter.  These floors are designed to be paver floors that would mak...

April 2021 Tile Voting

That time of the month again (well, ok, a little late).  Voting will close in a week.

Also, I'm now making a habit of updating OpenForgeZips at the time I send out the vote.  scatter and cut stone should both be updated now with last month's releases.

Cut-Stone Ruined Corners

Final set of the month: Cut-Stone Ruined Corners. Mixed with existing cut stone sets, these three should be sufficient to create a ton of ruined possibilities. Sure there's more that can be done with future tile sets, but this should give you a great start!

There are 8 wall and 8 floor vari...

The Old Shitty Well

All across the land, there are many wells. Beautiful, well-built wells with regularly oiled cranks, quality cover to keep the water clean and provide shade, and clear cool water to provide succor and refreshment.

This well is not one of those wells. This is an old, shitty well. Lon...

Curved Dungeon Stone Radial Stairs

This is the third of three releases this month for curved tiles that deal with elevation.  Here we have stairs that change elevation based on radius.  These probably have less utility for direct stairs, as much as some great tiles for special platforms and designs for rooms with platfor...
