I’ve been spending 5-6 hours a day in Solidworks and I’ve been able to rework almost every part of this custom printer. Learning so much and appreciating every bit of practice and knowledge in gaining.
I am starting to get confident enough to start designing my own printer from scratch...

As I wait for the last of the Voron 0 parts to print I’ve been brushing up on CAD because sooner than later I will finish a printer design.
I have a custom printer that’s been waiting to be upgraded so I decided I would sit down and practice the little I know in Solidworks and make a n...

This thing is so cute! Shout out to Jason from LDO for setting up a test kit in purple for me. I don’t love ABS so I’ve begun printing all the parts in Fusion Filament HTPET. Specifically the Red and Black HTPET. Been drying it overnight and first plate in red is going down.
Stay tuned...

Overhangs. Overhangs suck. Well... extreme ones. If I increase cooling it helps squat since too much cooling causes curling and so does too little. In the end not a product you want to use for anything over a 45 degree overhang.
Overall the material is very easy to print and it’s extreme...

Ugh... this stuff prints great but it’s tolerances are 1.71-1.62. I bought mine during a $40 per kg sale and it’s normally $80 a kg. Basically it’s poor for tolerance but it prints really well.
So far I’ve been testing the Buildtak Nylon sheet to great success. No warping with plen...

I already have a stack of flex sheets so I saved some cash by stocking up through the years.

I don’t have much that I can truly tell yet besides that retractions are super sexy.
Not sure why but retractions are just super clean. I don’t notice this on my hemera build but I could be mistaken.

Been sitting on testing this filament out and I have to say I’m quite happy with it.
Fusion Filaments who make epic HTPLA+ filament started making HTPET+ aka High Temp PET plus filament. It’s like higher deflection temp PETG without the G.
Why?
PETG added the G to be more ...

Shout out to a Patron here mr Frank Dixon who’s not only been teaching me Solidworks but hammered out the prototype universal LGX mount.
The first print shows a few tweaks but hopefully some time later today I’ll have a mount printed with the adjustments needed and have a test cube.
