Now everyone can comment

oops...

The comments were turned off by default for non-paying patrons. Even though I explicitly asked a question to everyone. Would've been slimy if it was on purpose! Sorry about that.

Now if you can see a post, you can comment on it.

video style suggestions

In my next long form video I'll appear on camera! And it'll happen more often I think, so I'd love to know the most insane and funny video styles/moments on youtube you know of to see if there's any aspects I like.

Lifting the curtain on brand deals that fail

Here's my next video. Although... this is not actually what it will look like because the sponsor pulled out at the last minute. Their branding strategy will focus on people with sensitive skin, and I think you can see why they thought this video didn't quite have the right feel to it... It's abo...

There were some people that asked for slightly longer videos, and I wanna build an audience on youtube, so I'm going to test making longer versions of my videos for youtube.

Shaving!

Oof, this project took way longer than expected.

I contacted Henson Shaving with this idea for a video, and they were so nice to sponsor the video and give 100 free blades to people that come from me (code: knowshave). So it seems like it might actually be possible to make this my job and k...

What I'm up to

Yesterday I posted a video that was unserious and that I didn't post here. It's because I couldn't finish the scripts I was working on. So at the last minute I decided to make a meme for this week and resume the normal schedule next week.

But I thought it'd be nice to tell what I'm working...

Wobbly table v1

Oof, this video is a nightmare to animate! These random orientations make it really hard to get anything right.

Anyway. Hope you enjoy. If you see anything wrong or something that I should add, please let me know. I plan to upload it to the socials tomorrow.

Greetings!

motorcycle turns v1

Voila! the next video.

Is it clear? In this video I really loop before finishing the whole explanation, namely that when you turn, you ride on the side of the wheel that has a smaller circumference, but it would seem to me that that is heavily implied and fairly obvious once you hear that y...

Hydraulic cylinders v1

I'm stocking up a few videos so I can have a proper holiday with Christmas.

What do you think? Maybe I'll change the oil texture a bit, but otherwise it seems fine to me, but it's always hard to say if it's a clear explanation when I know what I mean. So please let me know.

Microphone noise cancelation v1

Here's the first version of my next video! Any feedback?

I'm still questioning whether or not I should use a clean sine wave like I did now, or a more realistic sound wave.

Is the video clear?

Kind regards,

Ball bearings v1

It struck me as interesting that actually all the cool stuff of wheels happens on the OUTSIDE (rolling). A wheel with an axle straight through it is actually a pretty lame invention in comparison to the ball bearing if you ask me!

Any feedback on this version is appreciated!

Adverse yaw final version

Not much has changed actually. I added some lines and turned the wings to a side-view for some moments, as my girlfriend didn't understand what this weird droplet-shape was when she first saw it.

But my pilot friend said that this was way better than the videos he got in college, so I didn'...

I did an instagram poll whether my next video should be about airplanes, or ball bearings. To no one“s surprise, airplanes won!

So here is the first version. Please let me know what you think.

Is it accurate?
What about the colors?
Should the shadow stay?
Is it clear wha...

Why steel cables can bend

This is one of the videos I'm most proud of. Not because it is better animated or scripted more correct, but because I discovered this concept myself. It might or might not be a well-known concept, but the way I learned it was by thinking.

As might be obvious I'm a bit obsessed with simple ...

Mechanics of bow and arrow

At first I was thinking about how it it impossible to pull a string taught. This is because a string can not pull sideways, and eventually that is the only direction left to go, if it wants to be straight.

But this didn't really feel like a cool video. A string... yeah, and?

So eventu...

Anti-ackermann steering

Driver61 made a video on Youtube about anti-ackermann steering. Fascinating topic.

I didn't think he did a superb job at explaining though. It was long, had technical language and it was not very visual, so I made him an offer to do a collaboration for a short, vertical version. Sadly he di...
