POV Drumlessons activity
Hop To The Toms
Nice groove with lots of tom variations. Watch carefully how I swing my right arm towards the floor and tom 1. It is a kind of whip movement that you make.

I want to share this fill with you and show you what you can do with a paradiddle. Enjoy!

This is one of those fills that I often use in rock and metal. Practice slowly for an extended period of time, making sure you play each note tightly. Enjoy!

What makes this fill so powerful are the accents you play, combine this with ghost notes and you have a fill with a lot of dynamics. Bring the power!

The crash choke gives a super cool effect, I will teach you the technique and immediately add a nice fill. Let go!

A nice hi-hat oriented groove that I wanted to share with you. Just some hi-hat madness ;) Let's groove!

This lesson ties in well with the previous lesson. We are going to play a double kick pattern in 16th over 3 bars. Because we always move the double kick up a 16th, we literally play the kick anywhere possible. Therefore a very good efficient exercise. Good luck!

I have been using this kick drum technique for 20 years and it actually helps me to play everything, singles, doubles and triplets, no problem. Keep in mind that you cannot play this immediately after 1 lesson, keep practicing and you will notice that you get better with every practice session. 2024-07-11 17:27:00 +0000 UTC View Post
Do a solo
In this lesson I share an idea with you that you can use in a drum solo. If you build this up slowly, it is the perfect solo to hype up the crowd.

You ask and I will teach you. This was requested by one of the patreons who wanted a rock groove with toms that he could use in a bridge. So if you have ideas about what you want to learn, please let me know for the next inspiration box. Enjoy!

I wanted to share this one with you because it's just super funky to play. Use the bell of your ride cymbal well and groove along!

You can use this groove as a rock or metal breakdown. These types of grooves are often used in music when the bridge is played. I use the stack but you can of course use any cymbal you want, the best for metal and rock is a china cymbal. Have fun!
