BANGERS vs Quantity

Time for another "quiz the audience" to see what you all prefer! ;)

As much as I'd love to put out tons of absolute bangers of models that have great composition, details, and everything else that makes it *chefs kiss*, time is a real thing, so I'm curious what you would prefer in general?

Less models but higher quality OR lots of models but not as high quality?

(Don't worry I'm not using this as an excuse to lower my production quality, I'm more curious if my KS campaigns should be a bunch of models or a few high quality models.)

ex: Vampire Queen vs Bunnygirls Catmaids.

The Vampire Queen I'd argue would be a high quality model vs the Bunnygirls/Catmaids were mostly just one basic outfit but a bunch of poses and hairstyles.

Yeah that makes sense. When it comes to girls, sometimes even just the body type makes all the difference too for people's preferences.

Like the thing I love with the bunny girl pack is I am almost garenteed to find something that works for what I want for a model car diorama, and I can make multiple with different cars and different girls and not look like copy/paste

When I first got my printer, quantity was attractive. Now that I realize how long it takes to setup and print, quality helps, but I still like having two or three to get different posses depending on the diorama I want to make. The best of both worlds is something like warhammer 40k models where some customization is possible. Not sure how well that works for half naked woman vs armored roid boys.

I think a mix is best. I use the figures for wargames and tabletop at 32mm scale. While the unique ones serve as hero figures and little dioramas, the catmaidens KS serves me for a Blood Bowl team to play with, wich a single figure couldnt fit as the whole set fits. So, imo, mix is best

Thanks for all the feedback! That's why I love these polls because I love learning about everyone's preferences. I think the main argument for quantity would be allowing you to have a variety of options to print. But as mentioned by some of you, you've already got TONS of stls so you'd prefer single models that get you EXCITED to print. Thanks!

Do your best. We all have more models than time and holding yourself back for quantity over quality won't be good for anyone.

I agree with both conner and Jordan. If anything having larger scale models with high er details would be nice. ⅙ and ¼ for example. I also get that not everyone has the ability to print such large models, but I believe the market is there, look at Abe3d for example. He only offers his in ¼ with most of his models getting a ⅙ version.

Same here. Higher quality before quantity. The bangers are the one I'll paint. The quantity... not so much.

I agree with jordan. Its easy to end up with alot of stl's. Its hard to make a decision on what to pick. Honestly, A good theme, 3-5 sculpts or even just 1-2 bangers that you put all your effort into. A good model is an easier pick imo. Honestly i even prefer alternate outfit options of one model as opposed to multiple differentiated models

connor

Yeah that makes sense! Thanks for the input!

Just my humble opinion, but I'll never have enough time to print and paint all the models I have now, so when I do print and paint one I pick the highest quality ones I can find. I love your art style and enjoy your models so to me less is more when you put in all the extra effort.
