Would-Be Foundation
Added 2021-05-02 23:06:39 +0000 UTCThis "nonprofit foundation" was set up by Ted's friends Marlin Vortman, Sarah Davis, and Mary DeLong in Seattle, beginning in late 1979. While stating that the mission was to "aid indigent family members of people charged with a crime," in reality it was a way to sidestep "Son of Sam" laws and funnel money to Carole as payment for participating in the Michaud/Aynesworth book project.
Ted (and Carole) never saw a dime, though. Their contract hinged on Ted "telling the truth."
