My co-workers call me Dr. Wikipedia. I don't pay any attention to sports and am a big time history buff(naval especially), and fascinated by all thing technical. That is why in the past posts I've gone down the more technical aspects of sex. I have nerd tattooed across my forehead!

2020-02-24 23:13:24 +0000 UTCthere is an interesting Numberphile youtube video that is about how to select the best toilet at a festival... The math works out to you should open up the first 37 percent of toilets you come to a then after 37% you continue looking at toilets until you come to a toilet that is better than those before... I say this is interesting because you can apply the logic to dating.. The average life expectancy of a Canadian female is 84.7 years so really Kimmy should be dating the field until she is 31-32 years old... The fact that Kimmy effectively chose the 1st toilet she came to almost guarantees she ended up with a sub optimal toilet.. The math is behind Kimmy and Josh breaking up.

2020-02-24 22:17:08 +0000 UTCSo traffic is not as bad as LA! The real reason that I was trying to get a time line was to figure out if Kimmy need to stay in town to get the special job done. Yes, a wise cheater would show Josh a good time tonight. Kimmy gets home in time to cleanup and get changes for their night out. She maybe a bit put off by Josh creating a family event instead an intimate romantic evening.

2020-02-24 22:11:46 +0000 UTCspeculation is fun that is sure.. I don’t disagree with your assessment all those things could happen for sure. When I was saying Devlin and Kimmy are more nuanced I was referring to your description of them being an ass and a bitch.. From Josh’s perspective (and knowing what he doesn’t know) I’d agree with you. But I don’t necessarily see Devlin as an ass and Kimmy being a bitch in general. We don’t know what Devlin’s motivations are, personally I like Devlin so for now I’m holding out hope he does truly see some potential in Kimmy that is being wasted and is trying help her reach her potential.. The sex is just because he’s always had something for Kimmy, he likes fucking Josh over, and he probably likes taking married women for the power dynamics.. Kimmy seems to me to be typical “married my high school sweetheart and am now 10 years out of high school” wife.. Her and Josh seem like a good fit, and everything is okay... But is okay enough? she hasn’t really had opportunities to explore the possibilities of something better out there... I think it’s only going to get worse too as I see Kimmy graining confidence and more self worth as she becomes less dependent on Josh. Will Josh step up and be the kind of guy that attracts smart, sexy, successful lawyers types? or will he shrink away from Kimmy’s new found light... If we are talking reality, I’d say their relationship is doomed due to communication issues, but this is the literary world where anything is possible.. The journey and our speculation is the fun parts.

2020-02-24 22:00:46 +0000 UTCNuanced: Devlin sees Kimmy as a conquest. He's perpetually single. He might be out to break up Kimmy and Josh, but I believe once he gets Kimmy to himself, he's gonna run fast and far--if not immediately, then soon after. Kimmy, LHW3 because now she's got a real job. Once she gets a real lover--just a motion away (anyone wonder if she's gonna get pregnant because of all that cheese whiz being rubbed around and inside in the last chapter?) --she may realize she doesn't need Josh. Yes, she believes she loves him, but she's really torn about hurting him. Josh will hurt himself because he'll figure it out some way.. Either that or Devlin will tell all. :) It's all fun in a dirty, nasty, way. :) How can I be so sure? I can't. I speculate because it's fun.

2020-02-24 20:51:22 +0000 UTCi used google maps because the place in hamilton and their office are actual places.. As of now 3:30 eastern it’s a 64 minute drive from the hamilton port authority to the P&G office in toronto.. It’s 36 minutes from the office to Ajax. so call it 1:45 for kimmy to get to her car and get home. if it’s 2:30ish now (not sure we know the time, though as our only reference is Josh being after lunch) Kimmy would be home by 4:15.. that plenty of enough time to change clothes and brush her teeth (which is really the only clean up she’ll have to do as she can apply make up on the way back to the office). It’s established she takes her hair down after work so that being messed up can be explained away and any flushing would be gone in the 1:45 commute.

2020-02-24 20:42:34 +0000 UTCHamilton is 41 miles from Toronto, Toronto is 30 from Ajax. Hamilton to Ajax is 68 miles. Kimmy and Devlin spent 20-30 min not fuck around in the shipping container. Josh called around 2pm it's now 2:30ish they'll have to drive back to the office 1-1.5hr (if Toronto traffic is similar to LA). That gets them back at the office around 3:30-4pm. Maybe a 1hr trip home to Ajax. So Kimmy should be home around 5pm if she doesn't delay at the office. Does she get cleaned up before going home? Then 5:30-6pm is closer. Hum, when does Josh get home? KT there is one mistake here it's a technical detail: "Mel Wilson fucked up his paperwork, now I’ve got a client with one-and-a-half million of perishables on a dry dock." Drop the dry out of "dry dock" You would never have 50 containers sitting on a dry dock. It would be on a dock. A dry dock is usually a long narrow canal closed on one end and the other end has a water tight gate that can be closed. It is usually used to do repairs. A ship is pulled in to the dry dock and the gate is closed then the water is pumped out. The ship sits on blocks high and dry so it can be worked on with out the need of divers. So a ship is in dry dock and cargo is sitting on the dock.

2020-02-24 20:07:26 +0000 UTCthe port they are currently at is in Hamilton, her office is in north Toronto. I believe Devlin offices out of the satellite office in Kingston. Basically the story takes place all along the north side of Lake ontario along the 401 freeway. Kingston is basically where the St. Lawrence river and Lake Ontario meet, Hamilton is the far western edge of the lake.

2020-02-24 18:49:47 +0000 UTCI think the comparison to happy endings is an interesting one. If Tommy was less assertive and his initial spying brought the same results as Josh’s phone tracking it wouldn’t surprise me if Tommy and Sukie ended up down a similar line to Kimmy and Josh. As for your early morning take on the characters, I think you hit the nail on the head with Josh, but Kimmy and Devlin are more nuanced than you give them credit for.. From Josh’s perspective I’d agree with your takes though. It, surely could end up in LHW3 territory, but Kimmy seems more successful than either wife 1 or 2 so the ending will be different if Josh does in fact lose Kimmy.

2020-02-24 17:53:27 +0000 UTCSo, Ajax is about 30 miles from Toronto so Kimmy could commute to the office no trouble. Just trying to get my head around the geography. Is the port also in Toronto? Where is Kimmy's office?

2020-02-24 17:43:56 +0000 UTCYes, start of chapter 3 is perfect, boom it's a new day. It's the end of 2 that I find abrupt. Like I said to smooth it if you added a paragraph that gets them out of the restaurant and headed home with Kimmy explaining to Josh she has to get to work early for a meeting with a client? It could be left alone too.
RCH
2020-02-24 17:07:16 +0000 UTCI see it. I like the chapter start for Chapter 3 though. Statement-scenery-dialogue-context. Perhaps the addition of dates would make some of this clearer (I usually add the dates!). Chapter 3 is the next day after the dinner at the Martinique.

2020-02-24 14:41:42 +0000 UTCBegan reading through this just an opinion but it seems the transition between chapter two and three is a bit abrupt. Restaurant then in the car with Devlin. Another paragraph or two Kimmy and Josh leaving the restaurant together some closeness heading home with the possible hint of intimacy. Kimmy settling Josh. What is the time frame between the restaurant and the dock side meeting? It be another day or two before I'll finish the reorganized version.

2020-02-24 14:27:25 +0000 UTCRepost... It's only a matter of time, now. Josh? Not a thought. It makes us wonder if this is LHW3? It sure seems so, now. Even though Devlin is an asshole, the chemistry between them can't be denied. Maybe he covertly recorded Kimmy begging? That would be even a better taunt for Josh--if Devlin still wants to taunt Josh.

2020-02-24 11:16:40 +0000 UTCPacing is kind of like "Happy Endings"... Backstory is not, though. This early in the morning, I'm thinking, "Kimmy is a bitch, Devlin's an ass, and Josh is a spineless idiot who can't see the forest because he's blinded by wanting a bigger house." Anythiing for bucks, folks--including cut-up hands. Psychic connection be damned. Wonder how the spidey senses are tingling, now?

2020-02-24 02:46:54 +0000 UTCI just like that I am following an author with a vision. Devlin and Kimmy's love child won't happen overnight, heavens no 😜. I really love how Kimmy won't deny her feelings now.

2020-02-24 02:38:32 +0000 UTCGlauc you are crazy (in a good way). I wouldn’t say the pacing is the issue it’s more how many more times are Devlin and Kimmy going to see each other in private situations and not have sex? That doesn’t mean we need to have Devlin and Kimmy fuck in this book. For instance, Devlin and Kimmy can make plans for some night this week, but we just don’t get to it in this book. If the rest of this book was insights into how Kimmy is processing what just happened, how what happened affects Kimmy and Josh’s relationship, and some more insight into Josh thought process I’d be more than happy. Even happier still if the shaky part KT mentions is Josh after Devlin starts taunting him some more.

2020-02-24 02:30:34 +0000 UTCNah, nah, KT, no rush! To be honest, I was even thinking the pacing was getting a little fast!
