BONUS REWARD... Come and Get me, She-Bitch!
Added 2019-11-09 14:01:00 +0000 UTCBack in 2013, Daerick Gross Sr, (one of my greatest influences growing up growing up), contacted me and asked me to create a special pinup for the SHE-BAT MURCIELGA 25th Anniversary celebration book.
Over the years, Daerick and I have become good friends, and he knows how much SHE-BAT and the other REIKI WARRIORS mean to me. It was an honor to be asked to contribute.
I chose to draw some of SHE-BAT's supporting cast instead of the heroine herself, including MR.BABOSA and his hunky henchmen, CHIPP & DAYLE!
When SHE-BAT and the REIKI WARRIORS comics were published, it was the late 80's, early 90's, and although BABOSA and his boys were never officially identified as Gay Characters in the books, it was STRONGLY hinted at!
Fast-forward to 2013 and this pinup -- I wanted to do something that paid homage to their gayness, and while Daerick loved the end result, I'm afraid that CHIPP & DAYLE's "kissing nipples" nearly got the image barred from the Anniversary book by the project's publishers. But Daerick pushed and my illustration made it in. PHEW!
All that to say that I hope you enjoy seeing it as a BONUS REWARD while you wait for me to complete this month's all-new artwork. Even though there are no "boy-bits" on display, I've always really been happy with how this one turned out. And besides, it takes me back to those old comics that inspired me so much as a kid!
