Big update: Good news and bad news.

Sorry about the silence. I have a hard time posting updates when I don't have anything new to say, and multiple posts going: "I'm getting little things done here and there, but I still have a lot of writing work to do for my job, so that's taking the majority of my focus!" strikes me as lame.

But now I actually do have big news worth informing you all of. Some of it is good, some is bad.

THE BAD: The project is on hiatus now, not by choice, but by life. See, aside from my GPU and SSD, which are fairly modern, my PC is fucking old. As in, this thing is so elderly and senile that it wouldn't look out of place running for the US presidency... And it's finally starting to crap out on me. It's running slow. Running any kind of game on it is no longer possible, unless I feel like "playing" a PowerPoint presentation, with the FPS I'd be getting. Even being in a voice chat for a couple hours was making this thing chug to a crawl. Trying to do GECK work in it right now would be like pulling teeth, and actually playtesting it? Yeah right.

THE GOOD: First and foremost, the mod project is only on hiatus. It's not canceled. The only thing stopping this mod from releasing one day would be my untimely death. It will be finished and released. To be clear, the PC isn't actually dead or dying. It's just slow as shit. Moreover, as you can probably guess, I kind of need this thing to work. It's not just my gaming rig, it's also the computer I work from. At the end of the day, if I want this thing to run well, I need to replace the motherboard and the CPU. This'll cost me a bit, but not a prohibitive amount. In order to make this happen ASAP, I see only one option: I need to fight through my horrible ADD, and annihilate my work backlog. I need to get as many of these things done in the shortest time humanly possible... Which means, once my PC is upgraded and functional again... Suddenly the biggest obstacle to me prioritizing this mod project, my work backlog, is going to be severely reduced.

So, that's the plan. I really grit my teeth and try to get as much of this shit done as I can, as quickly as I possibly can, and at the end of the road, my PC of Theseus will be breathing easy, and I won't have so much damn work between me and the mod project I promised you all I'd complete. Not really ideal, but what can you do?

Of course, it must be said that, if you really want to help, contributing to the "Get this sorry motherfucker's PC back in working order" fund is an option. I'm already somewhat uncomfortable asking people for money in general, and I'm extremely grateful for the financial generosity you all have already shown me. I'm not asking for more. If you want to offer more, then by all means, feel free, and thank you very, very much for your generosity. If not, no worries.

Rest assured, the moment I have this thing functioning once again, I will update you all immediately, and buckle down and get some serious work done on this mod. After all, my work backlog will be that much smaller for it.
