Revisiting the Matter of Book Covers
Added 2025-08-08 08:21:33 +0000 UTCSo, those of you who've been here a while will remember the disastrous book cover a so-called artist I paid a hundred dollars gave me.
Namely, this ππ½

Right...
Anyway, as some of you suggested then, a basic cover with the title of the book and no fancy pictures will be much better than using this.
Well, I took that advice to heart and here are the best I've been able to come up with.
1). (My personal favourite, cause I feel like it has elements of xianxia in its design, as well as the mountains being reminiscent of Silver Springs.)

2). (Simple, but oddly pleasing.)

3). (All that gold is definitely eye-catching, but it does also seem rather gaudy, doesn't it?)

4). (It weirdly feels like this one gets better the longer you look at it. Also, mountains.)

5). (Still can't put my finger on what about this one I like so much.)

6). (Who knew potion green and rust brown could pair so well together? Not me, that's for sure.)

Anyway, that's it, all six of them.
Vote for the ones you like on the poll below, and leave comments for any suggestions you have.
PS: since choice paralysis is a thing, I've made it so you can make multiple choices on the poll.
PPS: the next chapter should be out by End-of-Day.

1 or 4, and 4 is more enigmatic. Original cover looks like a cut and paste and critically shows the characters (poorly/generically). When you show characters it had better match the mental image perfectly. It does not...
