Abney Park Video Game (Vintage Style RPG?)
Added 2017-05-30 22:58:41 +0000 UTCHow would you guys feel about an Abney Park themed video game, in the style of a vintage RPG? Abney Park writing, world, music and sound effects, possibly even voice acted (not sure this is in-scope, so I'm not making any promises.)
Noël Frodelius-Fujimoto suggested a development platform called RPG Maker, and after turning my nose up to it, I actually bothered to check it out. As long as you guys would enjoy a vintage look, I think this is something we could produce.

2017-05-30 23:45:32 +0000 UTCI think it's an awesome idea. I've peeked at RPGMaker a few times, and it just gets better with age. It's a bit of a money sink at the start, if you want all the pieces to get what you want (expansion packs for extra icons, specific genres, and such), but at the end of the day, if you've got something solid, it'll be worth it. And seriously, RPGMaker really hits that nostalgia for the JRPGs of the late 80s / early 90s, like Final Fantasy VI (which I feel is steampunky, and is perhaps the best of the Final Fantasy series for overall story and characterization.) Speaking of which - if you can get your hands on Final Fantasy VI, I highly recommend it for a playthrough ahead of time.

It's a powerful and great tool, but it won't make the game for you. However, if you're willing to put the energy and hundreds of hours into it, the results will certainly be stunning in every way!
