January 2025 Update!

Hi all,

I know we're two weeks in but happy new year!

Appologies for being quiet in December. There was a bit of a family crisis throughout the month which made it hard to focus on the sims but things have appeared to have calmed down. Additionally my computer was on it's last leg, with a barely functional keyboard and freqent overheating. I could maybe get in an hour or two of play testing a day before the game became nonfunctional making it harder to tell when things like simulation lag were being caused by computer or caused by a bug in my mod or others, since 90% of the time I'd close the game and the rest of the computers functions were lagging. Then over the weekend the screen literally broke off one if it's hinges, meaning I had no choice but to get a new one. Luckily I was able to borrow money from a family member in order to get a new one, so I was only out of commission for about two days. The good news is, the game runs smooth as butter on this new computer, even at Ultra High graphics, so if the game gets laggy for me it's definitely a bug, either from EA or one of the mods.

Despite the setbacks I have been hard at work incorporating the new Wicked Whims update into both Gay Archetypes and Muscle Worship, revamping the Cam Guy/Gay Porn Star Traits, (and touching upon the rent boy and go go boy traits since those frequently all go hand in hand in my playthroughs) and adding tasks related to the new Adult Filmmaking to the Porn Branch of the Fitness Model Career in Muscle Worship. Since that update is only available on the Patron version of Wicked Whims, I've made it so you can choose between preexisting Simhub related tasks and Objectives (which is now available in the free version of wicked whims) and the new tasks. I've also built a gay porn studio lot that I might post here for free.

Additionally, I've been doing more cleaning up of the Sexuality assignment process and cleaned up some of the buggier aspects the closeted trait, including incorporating the vanilla gender preference system to enforce closeted behavior instead of trying to use buffs to block interactions. I don't know if any even uses that trait, but it's one that I always find myself playing around with (even when my own sims aren't closeted), just because of the storytelling potential of it all, hence why I keep getting bogged down by trying to make it work properly. I'm actually really happy at where it has landed, now it's just a matter of balancing things like how fast closeted urges depletes.

I'm actually pretty much ready to release these, however we did just get a massive laundry list from EA, which means a big patch is hitting soon (either tommorow or next tuesday), so I'm going to wait till the patch drops, test these new updates with that patch, and then hopefully if there's no major issues, will post these updates then.
