Gunnlöd

Or Gunlød if you like to know her danish name.
In the tale of the Poetic Mead she is the final guardian of the mead that is so fine that it turns the one to drink it into a poet.
The tale is long, but the short version is Odin sneaks into the mountain to steal it from Gunnlöd‘s father Suttung. Gunnlöd falls for Odin and he ends up charming her so much that they enjoy each other for 3 long days.
As a gift, or a reward for this, Gunnlöd allows Odin 3 zips of the mead. Odin gulps it all down in 3 zips and leaves the mountain.

This is what I consider the key difference between Zeus and Odin.
Zeus would have taken Gunnlöd instead of the mead. But Odin was after the mead and ended up charming the beautiful guardian to hand it over.

In my ideal version of the story, Gunnlöd is already tipsy enough on the mead and is in no way, shape or form to defend the mead, but is also bored being locked up, alone in the mountain, so when Odin comes, he is in fact a much welcome and is warmly greeted by Gunnlöd.
I would also see it as Gunnlöd is offering Odin the drinks as their loving escapade continues to make him more and more vigorous. Until of course the end where there is no more mead, and also… Gunnlöd is passed out from all the lovemaking.

My design choice is that I wanted her a little distinguished from the more human-like gods, but I wasn’t overly fond of the idea of her, possibly having a more troll like appearance… because… well… that isn’t really my sight of Jotun… especially not all of them. I actually think they are just as diverse in beauty and sight, as humans are.
I went with a more elf like look - mixed with human traits. No tusks or fangs, again, she is described as beautiful in the tale of the poetic mead.
And what little artwork there is of her, she is also portrayed as beautiful.

And honestly, the Jotun idea of beauty might be very different than humans.
So Gunnlöd might even be considered… mediocre, perhaps even ugly in Jotun standards. Of course beauty is a currency that can’t be truly measured or valued in looks alone. But I think you get what I am trying to say. ♥️
