Winning words
Added 2020-01-13 16:01:02 +0000 UTCHappy Monday folks!
Well, suffice to say that this is not quite the communique that I was expecting to write.
So, last night, it turned out was the winners announcement for the 2019 Audio Verse Awards, voting for which closed at the end of last October. Suffice to say, not having heard anything since then, we weren't exactly paying attention. Until the notifications started coming in. A lot of them...
I am ecstatic to announce that Rusty Quill shows & crew are now the (somewhat overwhelmed) recipients of TEN (10) Audio Verse Awards! These are voted for by the public, and category-wise are the most in-depth awards out there, recognising shows, performers and production. You can find a full list of winners on their website at: https://audioverseawards.net/2019-winners/
In all, awards were given to:
Alexander J. Newall
- Best Player Direction of a Production - Rusty Quill Gaming
- Best Vocal Direction of a Production - The Magnus Archives

Thanks go out from all of us at Rusty Towers who nominated, voted, support us and organised in impressive fashion to get us such a fantastic sweep of nominations and wins. You're all amazing and we're so proud to have you as our loyal listeners and community ! <3
Naturally our shows are a collaborative effort. We definitely couldn't do this without the sterling efforts of everyone on the team - other cast, editors, producers, dice - beyond any individual awards. So, please make sure you include them in any kudos you want to give.
Now, onto other things!
Thanks to everyone who submitted for The Magnus Archives fluffy interlude writing competition! We received 49 entries in total, which I will be going through imminently to pick a winner and then we'll get that recorded for release on Patreon in February.
You may have also seen that this weekend, we announced the launch date for RQ Streams! On Saturday 25th January at 3pm GMT, Mike and I will be kicking off this project - so look forward to us playing and chatting about games (and other things as we experiment with the format) and generally trying to create another chill hangout spot for the community. We filmed some promo for the show yesterday as well, so look for a new video on our YouTube channel very soon.
We are also coming close to the end of Outliers Season 2. We hope you've been enjoying this show; it's been really fascinating to see the very different styles and stories that have come out of this series. Don't forget, each episode is usually accompanied by a blog over at the Historic Royal Palaces learning website with more information and a link to the show's transcript. Plus, we have a dedicated Outliers channel on our Discord where you can talk with other fans about the show. After this week, there are just 2 more stories to come - one from the esteemed Beth Crane, and our own Jonny Sims will bring the show to its conclusion.
Oh, and if the fluff competition got you itching to write something a little more... involved, well, look forward to my post next week :-D
And, here's what you can expect from us this week (all shows release at 4pm UK time):
Tue 14th January
