Frightfully good fun

Happy Monday folks!

Well, I think I can say that was a good weekend :-)

Thank you so much to everyone who dropped by on Saturday for the launch of RQ Streams! We are overjoyed that so many folks enjoyed Mike and me reminiscing, explaining and (eventually) setting off for the maiden voyage of the Aurora in FTL - looking back there were no fewer than 150 viewers at any given time, which for a first stream is very heartening. Hopefully it was interesting enough for folks to stick around and see where we go from here.

If you missed the show, the VOD is available on Twitch for about 2 weeks, and we will be looking at archiving the streams on our YouTube channel in some fashion at a later date.

This week will see Mike handing the reins to me to play a game I have no familiarity with, in a genre that's a bit out of my comfort zone: the triple-A action-adventure!

Obviously we're still finding our feet and experimenting with things, so expecting things to be a bit changeable as we tinker around with things like screen architecture and sound levels. If anyone has any feedback they would like to give us, feel free to PM me or leave a message in the #rq-streams channel of the Discord, email us on mail@rustyquill.com or drop RQ/Mike/Me a message on Twitter.

And a quick shoutout to anyone going to PodUK this weekend - we will have a limited presence there, as Alex & Hannah will heading up to Birmingham to represent Rusty Quill, with Alex appearing on 2 panels - the Audio Drama Panel at 13.15 and the Horror Panel at 17:15. For anyone who can't be there, we're going to see if we can record them for future transmission.

Now, on to this week's big new - please give a fanfare and wave your quills for Rusty Fears 3 : Fearsome ! We're back with the third installment of our horror short story writing competition as we look for some of the best new writing in the genre. Two winners will be selected and those stories will be recorded for broadcast on the public TMA feed in March, prior to the launch of Season 5.

Rules are much the same as previously, though please read the full details which can be found on our website, and we're once again looking for themed stories, which this year you have 3 to choose from:
- The Awful Machine
- One Last Time
- Let It Out

Up to you how you interpret those, but the judging panel will be looking for particularly interesting & well-written takes on the themes.

To make things slightly easier for us this year, we are asking that you submit your entries by form, which you can find HERE

And, here's what you can expect from us this week (all shows release at 4pm UK time):

Tue 28th January

Thanks! It’s working now

It should be there now - slight error in the website not updating in time.

Or more so the full details page

I was wondering about the rules for the competition. It looks like the link goes to a page that isn’t there anymore...
