Blasting forward!

Merry Monday folks!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. And welcome to all the new folks around here! On the back of last week's bonus release from the TMA Fluff Competition, we've seen an amazing surge of patronage. The response to & comments on the piece have been phenomenal, far exceeding our expectations when we decided to run the contest - although obviously Alex's very sincere and heartfelt intro may have had something to do with that as well ;-)

We hope you'll enjoy the other four pieces as they get released - no timeframe on them as yet, but I'll let you all know in good time when you can expect them. I would hope to be able to release one a month from here out, though obviously with Season 5 of The Magnus Archives being underway in earnest, it will depending on availability of editing resources.

If you do want to talk about the fluff piece, we do have the official fan Discord server that you can join - and a specific #early-access channel where you can enthuse with fellow fans. Just remember to link your Discord and Patreon accounts so that you can see channels exclusive to your level. Details on doing so can be found HERE.

New folks may also find the following fan resources helpful to delving through the older bonus content here on Patreon (we know that the search tools on this platform are... not the best):
- Rusty Quill Gaming :  https://rqglinks.tumblr.com/post/189766021420/rusty-quill-gaming-patreon-content-links
- The Magnus Archives :  https://the-magnus-archives-wiki.tumblr.com/post/189743170018/tma-premium-content

And don't forget to search the Video tag here to see general behind-the-scenes Rusty Bits snippets, including this footage of our Grand Catmander-in-Chief, Casper -  https://www.patreon.com/posts/rusty-bits-5-26371384

In other weekend news, well, it had to happen at some point - obviously the Chaos Lords of Streaming decided we'd been doing so well that it was time for a blessing of the dreaded Technical Issues! Apologies to those tuning in hoping to see us play No Man's Sky, but it seems that despite seemingly compensating for the game's known issues with streaming software, it steadfastly remained non-cooperative. We'll see if there's anything we can do to revisit it at a later date.

But, despite that, we managed to switch to retro horror FPS title - F.E.A.R. - without too much difficulty, and folks got to see Mike very enthusiastically blast his way through nostalgia while I attempted to provide some cogent analysis. Cheers to everyone who tuned in or watched/watches the VOD on catchup!

In a slight change of plans, this weekend (21st-23rd February) is GameBlast20 - a charity event raising money for SpecialEffect, a charity dedicated to improving access to gaming for those with physical disabilities, particularly children, by providing custom rigs and the like. So, our stream this Saturday will be dedicated to helping raise funds for this fantastic cause! We're still working out what we'll be doing, so stay tuned to our social media for more details as release them - we hope you can join us for that.

Also, quick reminder that Rusty Fears 3: Fearsome! - our horror short story writing competition closes at 9pm GMT on Friday this week! Make sure you get your stories in by then to have a chance at having the piece produced by us and broadcast in the TMA public feed prior to the start of Season 5. Full details and submission link HERE.

And, here's what you can expect from us this week (all shows release at 4pm UK time, unless otherwise stated):

So we're now over a month out from the last mention of the State of the Towers address, which was supposed to be coming at the end of January at the latest. Delays and bumps in the road obviously happen, but we're almost three weeks past the date you guys said it was coming and it's absolute radio silence on having missed it. It feels a bit disrespectful to just completely miss a deadline--especially for something that was described as being in part about how delays will be handled in the future--and then just...not acknowledge it at all. I love the work RQ does but this is getting to a point where I'm wondering if I even want to be part of the Patreon anymore.
