Preparations
Added 2019-10-07 15:00:02 +0000 UTCMerry Monday folks!
All's quiet on the Rusty front, as we take a bit of a breather to gird our auditory loins ahead of the upcoming season finale for The Magnus Archives.
If all goes to plan, we will be able to announce the airing dates for Season 5 when MAG160 is released. I will say that, in order to ensure Season 5 is as good and fitting a final season for the show as it can be, we will be taking a longer break than we have before. To that end, if you have any suggestions for things you would like to hear on the feed during the season break, do let us know in the comments below (unfortunately we can't really do 'in-character' material that would require extra writing from Jonny, sorry)
Naturally the mailbag Q&A episode will be happening as usual. We will be opening the submission form just prior to MAG159 airing. Given the wild rollercoaster of upcoming events, we would suggest that folks hold off submitting any story-related questions until after MAG160. But that doesn't mean you can't start thinking about things you'd like to ask :-)
And, here's what you can expect from us this week (all shows release at 4pm UK time):
Tue 8th October
RQG135 - Science! (Patreon)
Wed 9th October
MAG157 - Rotten Core (Patreon)
RQG135 - Science! (Public)
Thu 10th October
STL - Exit Interviews #2 [4 - 5] (Patreon)
MAG157 - Rotten Core (Public)
Fri 11th October
STL - Exit Interviews #2 [4 - 5] (Public)
Have a great week folks!

Seconding cast/crew gaming episodes. Maybe using some of the maguffin and company set ups? Also, maybe q and a’s/round table with the reoccurring cast/crew Edit: make sure Lowri is in at least one of the episodes! I loved her in welcome to Bermuda and need to hear more of her!

2019-10-12 23:26:56 +0000 UTCOh please please please can we get another episode of the cast/crew gaming together! I think there was an episode where they played some card game a whiiiile ago, but it was so much fun to listen to.

2019-10-10 18:55:35 +0000 UTCSerious answer! This may be Q&A territory, but what does the process of building a world look like from starting inspiration down to the level of individual statements? A talk on world building specifically and how the broad strokes and tiny details of the Magnus Archives are refined into the larger world would be enlightening. I always enjoy hearing tidbits that add to the story like the Osha Foundation that don't necessarily play a huge part in the current narrative and this talk could expand on those bits too!

2019-10-09 15:31:33 +0000 UTCVery much seconded. Maybe even a start to finish making-of of a particular episode?

2019-10-08 05:38:00 +0000 UTCYou know what I would love? Re-caps of different characters, Powers, and the like. Sometimes they'll mention someone in the episode and I am like ... wait who was that again? I think it would be fascinating to have a 'Profile' episode for at least the Powers.

2019-10-08 02:01:33 +0000 UTCI'll always ask for bloopers, hearing something so tonally intense devolve into laughter and nonsense is brilliant. Would love crew/assistant round table on and any behind the scenes making ofs for the SFX. The Q&A is brilliant but would also love to hear a longer form run down of the entities and inspirations for them from Jonny.
2019-10-07 22:31:43 +0000 UTCI'd love to get to hear another assistant round table. Those have been fantastic.
2019-10-07 19:21:34 +0000 UTCI'd listen to an entire segment just about the ridiculous things you've done to achieve different SFX and other sounds. My favorite parts of the Q&A are when we hear about things like Jonny doing an entire episode with his fist in his mouth, or sending people to run around the block to get that "winded" quality, or anything else like that.

2019-10-07 18:09:15 +0000 UTCi know bloopers are mostly a patron thing but those are always a treat! anything from guest voice actors would be fun. maybe commentary tracks with jonny/alex on episodes like the finale?

2019-10-07 17:20:51 +0000 UTCAssistant round table Crew round table Interview with Casper (as himself and/or on behalf of The Admiral)😻 Ben or someone reading out the entities (short and long-form names) as well as the names and brief history of the rituals we are aware of in cannom so far? (date of last attempt, foiled by, etc). Probably in the order Smirk has their tunnels arranged? Bloopers Fun super-cuts of certain phrases, character appearances, story elements as selected by crew

2019-10-07 16:56:02 +0000 UTCI'd be interested to hear from Johnny's parents about him, their roles on the show, the Rusty Towers crew, etc. if they are available. Also, if guest voice actors could chat with crew members about their other work, that would be a neat feature to promote them!
