A better way of working

Hi folks,

Happy Monday from Rusty Towers! As the weather begins to turn more blustery here in the UK, we’re making sure we’re wrapped up warm against the cold and the dark. Blankets might not do much in the Magnus-verse, but I am very grateful for mine right now 😄 

Some staff news this week, and I’m very pleased to announce that Helen Gould is our new Lead Sensitivity Editor! As mentioned in our recent Operations Update, this is a new position to hopefully ensure that the content we put out doesn’t harm marginalised groups or perpetuate damaging stereotypes. The goal here isn’t to stifle creativity or censor, but to make sure we’re giving matters appropriate consideration, and highlight where some more thought is required.

Helen has been a sensitivity consultant for a number of years now, and her experience has already been of significant help for forthcoming projects. Things she will be working on include helping in the development of new RQ shows, advising on upcoming episodes of existing shows, aiding the Comms team, and sourcing & liaising with external sensitivity consultants for expertise that we do not have in-house. 

When asked for comment on her new role, Helen simply said, “I AM SO EXCITED!”
