MAG Season 5 Q&A - Part 2

Comments

Lost jhons cave is, and will always be the best Mag ep ever. It is the eps where I went from "oh this shows ganna be good " to "I am in love, how do I give these ppl money"

Jasmine (Thatzer)

Does anyone know why the transcript wasn't on the wide release of this episode?

Marina O

I found it really fun/interesting that The Piper was a favourite episode, because that was the episode that made me really go from "I like this show" to "oh I /like/ this show!" Made me happy to hear that I wasn't the only one!

Stephanie Simon

yay for vindication on that web stuff. sorry if you felt like you had to tell a different story than you planned because you worried about audience reaction. I for one would have been totally down for a tragic horror ending with a web-eye showdown and some intense tragedy. and im sure others would as well. tho of course you can't please everyone. hope you guys feel confident and comfortable enough to explore whatever artistic direction makes for the best stories. <3

The Magnus Archives is an office comedy confirmed /j

HA It's just now clicking how excellent the dynamic of Melanie and Jon is. Both angry, stubborn, curious to a fault, and then branching, where Melanie goes to therapy, follows through with severing from the Eye, while Jon only goes deeper and deeper. Powerful stuff.

Lillian Collea

Knowing when to take a sick day is truly a life saver, both in real life and when you work for the Magnus Archives. Loved this episode of the Q&A!

Can we have a weekly show of Alex and Jonny just talking about stuff? Maybe with Helen? That would be great content.

LainyJP

"'Oh, no, creepy mushroom!' Kick it. The Corruption is a power that can be kicked. I have no time for it." My new favorite Fear dichotomy: can it be kicked?

Winter

I agree with you about the ending being good as it is and being slowed down by additions, although I feel that maybe an action oriented episode before 200 from Melanie, Georgie and Basira's point of view of their plan might have lent some tension and swashbuckling before the finale, although then there would be 201 episodes and yeah it probably wouldn't add much, but it's a fun thought. Maybe a potential fanfiction or animation idea

Robin McDonald

This is one of the most satisfying and validating ones so far for me :D VIIINDIIICAAAAATIONNNNNNN!!! for the Web!Martin stuff, and OOOHH, of course I'd picked up on the general Mythical Hero's Journey aspect of s5 but hearing that Jonny was thinking of the Odyssey specifically made so many things click (the domains they could have stayed in! Helen! Adrift as one of the final episodes! The ""useless"" and endlessly looping work Melanie and Georgie are doing at home!), I love it!
