A very happy Monday from all of us at Rusty Towers!
Firstly, some exciting updates from our production team: work on Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later is progressing very well. The show is currently in the stage we call “music edits” and the team has met with composer, Sam Jones, to begin creating a custom scoring. As always, we’ll keep you in the loop as production progresses.
Next up, we are delighted to say that we have finished selecting the winners of our Rusty Fears 6 writing competition! The winners will be informed shortly, and the public announcement will come after that. This record-breaking competition had more than double our previous highest number of entries and you did not make it easy for us with an incredible standard across the board. To give an insight into our judging process, we had three shortlisting judges who worked together to read all 700 stories across the 6 categories. As the judges were doing their usual day-to-day jobs as well as the judging, they were given several weeks for this, to ensure they could give each story the time it deserves. Between them, they shortlisted about 10 stories for each of the categories. These were then passed to lead judge, who after carefully reviewing the stories selected a winner and a runner-up for each category. A huge thank you to everyone who entered this massive competition. Keep an eye on our social media channels for the announcements of the winners.
Next up, our Friday bonus this week, for Rusty Nobles, is deluxe transcript #34. Enthusigasm fans, don’t worry – we have a few more episodes of the show in the pipeline coming soon. Quite a few of you are new here, and may not quite be sure what we mean by “Deluxe Transcript”. This Nobles bonus has been running since 2017, almost as long as our Patreon has, albeit with a few breaks. Initially created by Jonathan Sims, the deluxe transcripts feature the statement portion of the episode, plus in-character, exclusive comments from The Archivist, writing is reactions in the margins. They also feature follow-up notes and research, as well as unique images and photographs. Since launching way back in 2017, the staggered release means this week’s release is for MAG 34: Anatomy Class. We have deluxe transcripts planned up to the end of season 1, or – of course – if you just need a full, official transcript for any main-story episode in season 1 - 5, these are available on our website.
Have a good week all!
