Summary

•  The Russian 25th Combined Arms Army (CAA), which wasn’t supposed to be deployed in 2023, has been sent to Kharkiv and Luhansk despite not being fully staffed and trained
•  Russian forces continue their offensive operations east of Novejehorivka
•  Kramatorsk was attacked by Smerch rockets, but there were no injuries
•  Videos confirmed that Ukrainian forces are fighting house-to-house in the northern third of Klishchiivka and have reached the railroad grade south Andriivka
•  Russian reports that Ukrainian forces withdrew from Marinka are false
•  Fighting continues on the western edge of Verbove and east of Novoprokopovka
•  Ukrainian General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi said that Russia focused on building the first echelon of the Surovikin Line, and while visually intimidating, the second echelon is not as well constructed
•  Russian senior leaders of the 58th CAA have lost faith in their new commander and are consulting with their prior commander, Major General Ivan Popov
•  Russian launched 25 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones at the ports of Izmail and Reni, with three strikes at the latter, wounding two
•  Partisans caused significant damage to Moscow’s railroad infrastructure in the Lyubertsy District
•  The head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said the chances of Belarus using nuclear weapons on Ukraine are zero
•  Ukrainian drone and missile strikes in August destroyed more than $1.2 billion of military hardware
•  Russian State Duma Deputy Andrey Gurulev said that there would not be a wave of mobilization in September and that Moscow is relying on “contract soldiers”
•  Russia conducted a “double-tap” attack in the Sumy region, killing a police officer who responded to an earlier mortar attack
