Summary

•  Russian forces continue their attempts to advance past Novojehorivka in Luhansk
•  Ukrainian forces control 75% to 80% of Klishchiivka, with Russian sources setting conditions in the information space for its liberation
•  There are reports of a Ukrainian offensive at Novodeontske and Novomaiorske 
•  Ukrainian forces have taken control of some of the manned trenches of the Surovikin Line near Verbove and south of Robotyne
•  Ukrainian forces advanced deeper into the southern part of Kamyanske in Zaporizhzhia
•  A British-provided Challenger 2 main battle tank was knocked out of service in the Orikhiv area of operation (AO)
•  The port area of Izmail was attacked for the third time in four days by kamikaze drones, with up to ten strikes
•  A Russian drone strike on Romanian territory on September 3 – 4 was visually confirmed, despite Bucharest’s denials
•  Oleskii Reznikov was officially removed as Minister of Defense of Ukraine
•  The Verkhovna Rada dismissed Rustem Umyerov from the position of head of the State Property Fund and will confirm him as the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine on Wednesday
•  Pavlo Kyrylenko was dismissed as the Donetsk Oblast Administrative and Military Governor to become the new head of the Antimonopoly Committee
•  Russian defector Maksym Kuzminov held a press conference today and explained how we brought a Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine
•  Ukrainian officials confirmed that Kuzminov will be paid a $500,000 bounty for delivering the helicopter during his defection
•  Germany announced a new package of military aid for Ukraine
•  Belgium will provide Ukraine with Sea Sparrow surface-to-air missiles, which may find new life in a Russian Buk air defense system
•  Ukraine will be the first country in the world to operate the fully automated RCH 155 self-propelled howitzer in early 2024
•  Russia has declared the investigation into the plane crash that killed Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmytry Utkin a “state secret”
•  General of the Army Sergey Survokin has reportedly been released from captivity
