It seems like everyone does deserts these days, with a little bit of each extreme environment thrown in. I figured that even on a hot world there would be a diversity of habitats

I find it fascinating to see birrin in cold or even just temperate environments. When you first said the homeworld was a "hothouse", I didn't think there would be any snow at all, anywhere!
Though as someone who has lived in cool climates all their life I can see how hoping for snow birrin makes me look kinda biased :) . Really, given the disproportionate role temperate zones have claimed in our world these last few centuries, it's only fair to create a more tropical zones-centric narrative...
