A peek at what goes on behind the curtain! Many of the tack shaders use a trick that forces the piece to be rendered in front of the horse. In reality some of the tack pieces, for example the martingale-breastplate, clip through the horse during certain animation movements, because they are thin and rest so close to the skin. The shader allows some amount of clipping without it being visible to the player at all. This is an interpolation of the same method that was used to fix the rein clipping problem in the past. With this shader trick I'd say basically all noticeable clipping of the tack has been eliminated. 😙
