1. Black screen
2. D3D related errors
3. Failed to open descriptor file
4. Game not saving / Error: Cannot find save file
5. Game is laggy
6. Rider's legs don't work
This problem is still under investigation, but as of now; my best guess is that this problem has do with the the computer parts, mainly graphics card, taking too long to render the game.
Some things you can try:
Before pressing Play, set the graphics to Low, and Anti-Aliasing to Fast. You can even set shadows Off, and lower the resolution or screen percentage. The resolution setting only works on windowed mode (set Screen Style to "Windowed" and press F11).
Update your graphics card drivers. Instructions below โ (under next section "D3D errors")
Close all other apps, and if you are playing on a laptop, plug it in.
If you have tried everything and the issue remains, this might mean that the computer is not powerful enough to run the game, at least in its current state. Better performance optimization will be added in the future, so keep an eye on the updates - after a newer update the game might start working for you.
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost?
A D3D11-compatible GPU is required to run the engine?

If you got this error, update your graphics card drivers.
First you need to know the manufacturer of your graphics card. Press Windows button, type "dxdiag" to the search bar, and open the app with a blue-yellow icon. Then go to "Display" tab - there is the manufacturer of the graphics card.
Most manufacturers have automatic apps for updating drivers. If your manufacturer is...
NVIDIA, install THIS
Intel, install THIS
AMD, install THIS
Then follow the app's instructions for updating the drivers.
If after updating, the issue is still there, I have bad news. This likely means that your graphics card is not suitable for the game.

If you are getting this error, I have bad news.
The exact cause of this error is unknown, and no specific fix exists. The error typically appears on computers with weak components for gaming, and very likely means that the computer is not suitable for running the engine. There are still a couple of things you can try:
Verify the game files on Steam (picture below)
Uninstall and reinstall the game
Update your graphics card drivers. Instructions on how are above โ (under the section "D3D Errors")

This error usually indicates that something in your save file is corrupted.
The first thing you should try is to simply quit the game and open it again. If you cannot access the quit button, press ALT + F4 (force quits the app).
If reopening doesn't fix it, then sadly the only way to go is by deleting the corrupted save file, meaning all your progress will be lost. Locate the save file on your computer (TUTORIAL) and delete it. Note that the save file name for the official game is torr_slot1.sav.
In case deleting the save file does not work either, send a message here or on Instagram DMs.
Go to Settings, choose the Graphics tab, and press a button that says FPS.

If the FPS is lower than 30, you need to lower graphics quality. Also set Anti-Aliasing to either Fast or Off. To improve performance, close all other apps, and if you're playing on a laptop, plug it in.
If the FPS is still below 30, put Shadow quality to "No shadows", and lower the screen percentage or resolution. Note, that the resolution setting only works when the screen is set to Windowed (set Screen Style to "Windowed" and press F11).
If you have tried everything and the FPS remains low, this likely means that your computer is not powerful enough to run the game, at least in its current state. More performance optimization is planned for the future though, so keep an eye on the updates - after a newer update the game might start working for you.
Firstly, are you playing on a laptop? Laptop trackpads usually don't allow you to simultaneously press both left and right buttons. You need a mouse, with working left and right, to play.
If you have issues despite playing with a mouse, you are likely dealing with a bug where the mouse stops responding when the (invisible) cursor hits the edges of the screen. Basically the mouse can glitch out of the game screen, if you move the camera a lot. This bug is under investigation and will hopefully be fixed in a later update.
What may help is trying out the different Screen Styles in the settings. If not, then what you can do for now, is avoid turning the camera a lot when riding.
