Watching an area the size of a small continent be destroyed was a rare occasion. It had seen the fall of Atlantis, Sumer, Babylon and other civilizations in ancient times.

It wasn't the first time that a Demi-Goddess had rampaged in the Underworld. But it was the first time that what it sensed was a primordial has meddled with modern humans. It was also an unknown one, but it recognized the touch of the divine upon the girl who decimated the devil territory.

It was quite interesting to see the girl power up each time someone confronted her; her power scaled up depending on the threat placed before her. The girl was young and might grow further in power, so it decided that it would seek her out and ask her to kill Baka-Red to reclaim her silence.

It was asking itself how it would approach the Demi-Goddess without appearing to be a threat…

(Rias Gremory)

Gremory Estate
1 day after the incident

Rias wasn't an idiot, something big had happened. Her brother didn't answer her calls, Grayfia as well… usually, even if they were busy they answered Rias’ calls.

Rias decided to quietly ask the servants at home as they always ended up finding what was happening through the grapevine. But all she got was that a disaster happened and that her brother and sister-in-law were busy giving a helping hand.

The Crimson Princess laid on her bed, playing with her smartphone while Akeno, her Queen and best friend, was reading a magic book. Rias turned to her friend, reading the cover of her book, it was about lightning magic…

As she had had enough of having to think about what she couldn’t control, Rias called her best friend, Sona, on her phone, the other Heiress picked up after the first ring.

“Hello.” Sona’s voice timbre was warm.

Rias excitedly replied, “Sona-chan! I am so happy~ to hear from you! You’ll never guess what’s happening my brother-”

The other Devil heiress sighed. “This isn't the time for one of your entitled rants, Rias…”

Rias frowned, this was unlike Sona to react this way; and it hurt a bit to hear her say that. She wasn’t that spoiled, right? “Is something wrong, Sona?”

The redhead heard a cough on the other side of the line, Sona said in a vague tone, “My home is receiving some… important guests.”

Rias suddenly sat up on her bed, she also realized that Sona was being monitored and couldn’t say what was happening at her home. “What can you tell me, Sona-Chan?”

“Satan Lucifer is here at my home because of the recent shenanigans in the underworld.” Sona continued to be cryptic.

The implications were many, the Andrealphus territory was said to have been destroyed because the heir of the has dabbled with powerful forbidden magic which has opened some kind of rift in space that summoned monsters and started to eat the residents of the territory. However, Rias just learned that her brother and Sona’s sister were speaking with someone. This meant that they were either the person who destroyed an entire Devil territory or there was something else going on. “Do you mean…”

Sona coughed to interrupt her friend and she asked, “Rias, can I come to your home?”

Rias instantly answered, “Yes, I invite you.”

“Thank you, I'm teleporting to you right now.” Sona said with a sigh of relief.

A magical circle with the Sitri crest appeared in the middle of Rias’ bedroom and out of it was a Sona dressed in a fancy way. She was wearing a blue cocktail dress accessorized with jewelry made of white and set with sapphire gems, at her arms was a white demon moth silk shawl. Rias stood up and walked up to her friend, staring at her up and down. “Gosh. Sona, you look amazing!”

Sona -who had red eyes, a sure sign that she had cried- gave her a forced smile and put a lock of hair behind her right ear. “Thank you, Rias.” Then the bespectacled girl threw a bomb at Rias. “Mother made me dress up as we had dinner with the person who destroyed the Andrealphus territory.”

“What?!” Rias immediately grabbed onto Sona’s trembling hands.

Sona reiterated, “There is an incredibly dangerous person in my home and your brother and my sister act like she’s their equal.”

Rias’ eyes widened in shock, now she understood what happened. That person or being must really be atrociously strong for Sona to react that way to them. “What do they look like?”

The redhead brought Sona to her small living room and sat her on the sofa facing her panoramic window. Akeno put down her book, looked at the two of them and said with a little bow, “I’m going to prepare some tea.”

“Thank you, Akeno.” Rias said with a smile.

Rias Queen quickly left the room, knowing that what Sona was about to say was highly sensitive. The redhead turned to her friend and asked with a serious tone, “We were saying…?”

“She looks like a human girl of our age.” Sona said unclearly.

With a roll of her eyes, Rias replied with sarcasm lacing her voice, “You know that means… nothing with gods and supernatural beings. Can you show me with your magic?”

Sona produced a magical hologram that showed a raven haired girl of medium height wearing some kind of silver bikini armor. Her eyes were as red as ruby and her figure was similar to hers and Rias’ mother, but she looked more toned and muscular. Rias was used to nudity as she herself was an exhibitionist, a trait inherited from her own mother, but this girl gave her some body complexes…

Rias tilted her head as she looked at the magical hologram. “Huh, she doesn’t look human to me, too beautiful and her choice of armor is rather… interesting. Wait, I feel like I've seen her before.”

The redhead tried hard to remember where she had seen that girl before, but nothing came to mind right at this moment. It was going to bother her all week!

Sona leaned further on her sofa and pointed at the girl’s likeness. “But that’s just it, She looked human, she is human! But she is… argh.”

This was the first time Rias was seeing her friend act like this; as if she had been heartbroken. “What got you so rattled?”

Sona looked back at Rias and calmed down, then started telling her what happened, “It’s that girl, the way she moves and acts, she’s really proud and acts like she’s some kind of Queen and superior to everyone she meets. My parents put me on the spot after we finished eating and they made me speak about myself to her and…”

Rias raised an eyebrow, very curious about what happened. “And what?”

Sona looked rather sad as she said, “I told her about my dream of opening a rating game school for the lower class devils… and she bluntly told me that I shouldn’t bother, that those Devils in power would never allow it as they want to keep the ‘little people’ begging for their scraps and unable to rise up. That the only way that I could make my dream come true would be to become as strong as my sister. That only power matters. It was… at that point that she used some kind of pressure on me. It was like facing three Serafall or your brother.”

Oh that would explain how shaken her friend was, that girl had just told her the truth about how corrupt Devil society is. Rias sighed, then she said, “That’s why you ran away from the dinner?”

Sona nodded, “Yes, my sister was having an argument with that person.” The Sitri heiress dismissed the magical hologram with a wave of her hand and a mean look thrown at it.

Rias was really curious about that girl now, it didn’t seem to her that she put a hole in Sona’s dream because she wanted to be mean about it. But to force her to reassess it and take steps to change how Sona will approach it. “Do you know her name or her title?”

“She was called the Queen of Blade, Usagiyama Iori.” Sona revealed.

Like a light bulb finally lighting up the metaphorical darkness, Rias remembered who that girl was. She stood up from her sofa and exclaimed, “Oh! Now I remember! She’s that girl allied with the Yokai in Japan!”

Akeno came back with a tray with a tea set and a tea boiler, the half fallen girl smiled at the two of them and said, “I hope I didn’t miss anything.”

 One day ago, a tragedy happened in the Great Marquis’ Andrealphus territory. It isn't exactly clear what happened but the mountain the Andrealphus Palace was located on suddenly exploded, it is theorized that Lord Rufus Andrealphus experimented with dimensional magic and brought on this tragedy. Unknown monsters have spread to the nearest town to the Andrealphus Palace and attacked their inhabitants mercilessly.

 My heart goes to the victims of such a disaster.

I let go of the mouse and leaned into my comfortable gaming chair, still looking at the screen that showed the thread about the Andrealphus territory on Supernatural Online.

I won’t lie and say that I didn’t feel guilty about what happened to all those people after the adrenaline and my combat sense left me to reflect about everything that had happened that I could have done better. Scáthach beat into me a new sense of priorities and code of honor; I wouldn’t give in to anger this easily anymore, or at least I will try not to. 

It’s just that this world was a fucking death world and it kept on trying to pull me into its bullshit. For now, I’ve only got one goal: Survive.

Then I would get stronger and thrive, and to do that I have to make myself more than what I was. To forge myself into a weapon. Looking around me, I reassured myself that I was back into my home. However the girl who has returned home wasn’t the same one who got kidnapped, the one who returned was a warrior, a protector and I will be damned if I let anyone trample on my freedom again. God, Demon, hero, it doesn’t matter what they will call me in the end.
