Paramecia-type Devil Fruits (Luffy, Buggy) grant their users any one of a wide variety of superhuman powers. The users of Zoan-type Devil Fruits (Chopper) gain the ability to transform into a specific animal. Logia-type Devil Fruits (Smoker, Ace, Crocodile) allow their users to create, control, and transform their body into a natural element. These last episodes of Skypia arc I think are the best of the arc IMO.

The lightning strike that magically saved his life didn’t affect Luffy even though Buggy was shown to be shocked (and actually also showed lightning strikes don’t automatically kill people in One Piece either I guess)

Enel is much more experienced than Luffy in fighting and war, he is stronger and his destructive power is much more than Luffy. However, due to his nature, Luffy cannot take a hit from Enel. You will see a lot of this type of fights in this series.
