One Piece Ep 273 Full Reaction!

One Piece Ep 273 Full Reaction!

Comments

At least one Netflix it skips recap if there isnt anything new in it, plus the intro is a seperate skip button, its nice.

Mahuloq

You should skip to title. As an OP Veteran here, caught up with the anime, even I only watch the new openings a handful of times. The padding only gets worse and you(we) have to acknowledge your own mental health needs. Maybe watch the opening theme once a week, after you can watch without spoilers, so you can have these songs stuck in your head like the rest of us.

Garth Whisenant

Just a heads up on gear second till he run into Aokiji his base power have been enough to either win or at least get away with Aokiji it was clear neither was a option so he need to boost power gear second is him increasing his blood pressure because everything about Luffy is rubber outside of hair eyes and teeth

Kwame James

Yeah, I'd like a title drop start

Leniathan

When you sell your your thought and opinions online you lose the right to complain when other people take issue. I'm not being mean, I'm not saying anything that's not true, and I should be able voice my own opinions on the content that I am paying to watch when that content does not live up to the expectations that I hold, ESPECIALLY when it's a recurring issue. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop watching, doesn't mean I'm going to turn into an a****** randomly. But given the nature of the website that you are reading this comment on, I will continue to voice my complaints, opinions and advice. It's constructive criticism.

Stephen Vaughn

And I would totally agree if the things that he was missing weren't critical, and weren't then informing his issues and opinions on the show and affecting his ability to enjoy it. Almost every single issue that he's had that's caused him problems with the community has been because he's not been paying attention and talking to the camera during an important part of the show. I'm not expecting his experience to exactly mimic mine, but when there's clear foreshadowing for something that he misses and then ends up being part of his core reasoning for later issues that he has with the show, I'm going to say something. I'm a paying customer just like you and I have every right to voice my opinion, especially when the words are falling on deaf ears and not a single one of the comments that I, or anyone else for that matter, has made over the past several months has been referenced or addressed anywhere. I enjoy nerdy's reactions to the show because he goes deep and picks up on thematic elements that essentially no other reactor does. However I would like for the reactor that I'm paying to see to be reacting to what's happening on screen and not what they 'kind of think' was happening on screen. I'm not telling him how to interpret or experience the show. I'm trying to correct objective mistakes in reasoning and analysis based on incomplete/missing information, just like I would be doing if I were showing the anime to someone in real life and they had misunderstandings. It's doubly important for him to pay attention because these reactions are released on youtube, and if he's giving opinions on the show based on valid criticism (something that tracks with the actual storyline) then not many people are going to bat an eye, and the videos will likely do well. If, however, he gives his ending opinions and his justification for those opinions builds on a flawed interpretation of what happened/was said/etc. then he's going to get crucified. I like Nerdy, from what I've seen of his personality, and I want his career as a content creator to go well. It's not going to if he's inaccurately representing one of the most popular stories in existence because he feels it is more important to look at the camera than the screen when riffing during a show spoken in a language he doesn't understand. It's the difference between having a hot take on a subject you researched vs. just reading some headlines about it. The former can be respected, not the latter.

Stephen Vaughn

The intros only get longer as you go along lol. The longest one I remember is 11 minutes in. As long as you can find a way to start the vid on the title and not accidentally read the title, forget us, skipping the recap would make your life so much easier There’s also a few episodes where there is a small bit of new material before the title or song, but I seem to remember that this arc is one of the only that does that sometimes. You could rely on us to make sure you’re not missing anything

Josh Timko

Dude wtf. Just let him watch the show like he wants. If he misses shit you think is important, it'll be okay. He doesn't have to precisely mimic your personal experience with the show.

Highly Educated Trucker

you can skip the intro and catch up stuff, I am lol I start my part once the op is done.

mark

Can't have the people making their own informed decisions on if they like a series or not. Youtube did the same thing with the dislike button and anyone with any sort of intelligence just modded it back.

It makes me so sad that you're taking a 'it probably won't be explained' attitude, despite the fact that Oda explains far more than he leaves to the imagination, especially when it comes to the mechanics. If you were paying attention and still putting thought into predicting mechanics based on the hyperbolic, yet grounded style of the story, you would not be surprised by Gear 2nd. If you read the comments of your patrons, some of us who spend an hour or more typing up long explanations to address the understandable, yet mainly unfounded/ill-conceived grievances you express about their favorite show, you: * wouldn't be at all surprised by Gear 2nd * wouldn't have as much, or any, issues with the Calgara/Noland flashback * wouldn't still be looking at Enel as anything more than a 200million volt chump who can't even manage more than 2/3rds the power of an regular Earth-sourced lightning bolt and relies far too much on his Devil Fruit/Mantra. * wouldn't be misinterpreting CP9 and the Six Powers as poorly planned power scaling instead of an evolution of what had already been set up in the story. * Oda always wants Luffy and the crew feeling small, but more than that, he wants to initiate the crew. This is a common theme in many games you've likely played, where they throw you against something you aren't expected to win against, but technically can. * The power scaling in this world is actually very well established as FAR beyond what any Straw-Hat or direct antagonist character has demonstrated on-screen for you thus far. However, Oda has exposed us to seemingly insurmountably strong characters capable of wiping the crew time and time again from the very beginning. Shanks, Mihawk, Smoker, Crocodile, Enel, and now CP9. The only difference is that it's not a Devil Fruit (or your assumption of one) that's directly empowering the characters. It's something that can be taught. I've mentioned this before, as have many of the other Patrons, but there is only one of the 'Six Powers' (Rokushiki) that aren't fully justifiable as alterations/evolutions/analogs to techniques we've already been shown. That would be Iron Body, but the explanation is coming way down the line, and has already been foreshadowed/is implicit by the fact that every strong character isn't automatically assumed to have a Devil Fruit, which they would have to, in order to combat Fruit Users. Shave = "_Pussyfoot maneuver_"/"_Shakushi_" (Captain Kuro) Finger Pistol = 'Basic' Strong Extremities (Bon Clay/others kicking/punching holes in stone, Vivi's supersonic duck scaling the cliffs of Alabasta, etc.) Paper Art = Mantra (Enel, Sky Priests, Aisu), Gomu Gomu no Bohhh (Luffy vs. Enel) Geppou = Flying attacks/Compression waves generated by fast moving objects like "180 pound cannon" and Right Angle Slash (Zoro, T-Bone) I can tell that you don't read this stuff very often, because I've been leaving comments like this for like over a month and a half at least. Do you know you can have AI summarize all this for you? You can even set it up to detect and conceal spoilers lol. Okay, gonna watch the episode now lol. I saw the comments and figured I'd just get this out of the way.

Stephen Vaughn

Oda has said in an SBS that it is fundamentally the same technique, only since Kuro came up with it himself it's less efficient; e.g. at full speed he can't see where he's going.

Illjwamh

This might be my own headcannon, and maybe a translation thing, but Luffy said that he's seen shave before, and I believe it was when he fought Kuro in the east blue. Kuro did this thing where you see him step many times in place and that allows him to move fast, so maybe it was a rudimentary form of shave.

Manu_C

you should definitely skip. Just show the time of the beginning

Umut Yeşil

Casting vote to skip, shame Crunchyroll doesnt have comments anymore it used to have timestamps to when the episode actually started.

Alejandro

The recaps eventually take up a huge chunk of the episodes, up to almost 7 minutes at their worst. I'm all for skipping that. I have enjoyed seeing you vibe and sing along with the various openings, but the Crunchyroll version of the show uses the same opening from episode 326 to episode 458. That's 153 episodes. With all that taken into consideration, I'm fine with you eventually starting at the title screen.

Olivier Leduc

As much as I am in favor of skipping, it might be best to wait until the format returns to what it was before Water 7. They do a lot of mixing new stuff into the recap that makes it difficult to just skip for now. I'm sure others will have better insight though. Also, I am pretty sure you're good to watch the OP now if you didn't know already.

Tartmonkey

Head Franky Family Guy is named "Zambai". I'm okay with skipping the recap and starting at the title, since that's how I've been watching One Piece since about episode 325 or so. Starting around there, they add in a new intro that repeats the tale of Gold Roger's execution from Episode 1 and how it launched the Great Pirate Era, and it's the same opening in every show. Gets kind of repetitive, and absolutely worth skipping. So might as well get into the habit now.

Highly Educated Trucker

I think skipping the Recaps is fine, starting at either the song or the title works. Hearing you sing along is great but the recaps aren't that important imo. I usually do some reading for bookclub while waiting lol.

Liam Oram Wheeler

Please skip the recaps haha I hate sitting through them

PearseNation

i really dont mind whatever you prefer because i can just skip it anyway so it doesnt hurt being there i guess

Marcus

Yes skip the recaps and start at the title screen. Its easy to sync up. Skip it after the new stuff ends in the recaps, not sure which episode they stop?

EgregiousGrievous

I agree with skipping the recap, but please start with the opening. I enjoy watching you become more familiar with the songs, and it's great to see your reaction to watching the opening once you are allowed without getting spoilers.

elysian03

I like when you sing along. I'd like either option but would prefer you starting at the opening rather than the title. I've been using the down time to catch Pokemon, lol

Illjwamh

Oda was a big dragon ball fan, a lot of the way luffy fights goofing around and the pink steam of gear 2 was inspired by majin buu
