A few years ago I watched an FX series called “The Americans” based on KGB plants in the United States spying but living life as “every day people”, “every day careers” etc. Later in the series the main characters’ KGB handler instructed them to start prepping their teenage children for roles in the KGB because the children were more woven into the “American” system and could gain more prominent jobs because they were born in the States etc. Knowing art imitates reality, it only makes sense that the CIA would use the same tactics as the KGB, where CIA members like Steve Kerrs parents (KGB would always send in teams...mom and dad) would groom him for a life of espionage or other missions.
