not my cleanest page, but... my mom left a day early, to keep it brief.
this is the first comic where i've needed to retcon details in the preview panels... quite a few actually.
first of all, the crutches; not sure what on earth possessed me to draw the wrong kind of crutches for felix, but. fine.
felix's hair needed to be redrawn as pushed back as well -- this one was for an honest edit in the script while i was cleaning it up, i'll sorta talk about it a little more when the comic's over, since it mainly involves writing characters with dissociative disorders.
the third was a small one, felix's window needed to be edited to be rolled down, no shines, because izzi shouted out of it to get their attention.
besides that... those damn seat belts get me every time. izzi's arm has also been annoying to deal with... i'm used to allowing a character to gesticulate with both hands when driving, but she needs her left hand on the gas pedal mechanism.
regardless, her driving habits make me even more anxious than sugar's just to see.

Hi, I’m new here. I love how Izzi’s scar looks and the pallet choice for this comic. I’m wondering if the sort of scribbly lines around Felix showing anxiety/disassociation? So far they only really appear when he’s witnessing or hearing about child abuse and also when there is a switch in whose fronting (probably because of the stress?).

2018-09-26 16:47:38 +0000 UTCizzi's a little weird... she's done the same thing in a couple different comic, the best one is probably here in a sketch comic with felix as well, where she pauses and stares at felix, and then continues: <a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/filler-36-15959176">https://www.patreon.com/posts/filler-36-15959176</a> what's going on in her head may or may not be a little clearer by the end of the comic, but i'd say canonically, she's not a very passive-aggressive person, and she usually only makes eye contact when she feels the situation is no longer safe or stable and she has to re-assess. so she probably either was barely listening to felix in the first place, or she brushed off a follow-up judgment to not make things awkward, but the fact that she looked away again (assuming she cares very little about keeping her eyes on the actual road) implies that she at least did not find anything concerning in her glance at felix which would warrant keeping her eyes on them.

2018-09-26 01:29:55 +0000 UTCI cant tell if Izzi picked up on Felix freaking out over her talking about reporting child abuse, and instead misplaced it for Felix thinking shes being crazy or that theyre uncertain of her. For the one panel before she started talking about her boss thinking she was crazy, she looked skeptical of what Felix was saying / doing, but I'm not sure if its because of Felix being dismissive about having to change out of their work clothes because it would be a perceived hassle on her, or because shes picking up on how theyre nervous and wonders if it has to do with them doubting her, or a bit of both? She may have thought Felix felt that way for a moment, and disregarded it because she knows shes liable to be paranoid over nothing, which is why she started talking about that next? Hopefully this makes sense.
