i really wasn't happy with this page... a lot of the panels i redrew altogether. the sketches were old-ish and i was struggling to conceptualize shapes with more pressing matters at the time. still, some of them i didn't have the time or energy or skill to figure out how exactly i could get them to work better.
the top row, for example, those ended up being pretty simple distance model shots, even though i wasn't completely happy with it, but i ended up edging the framing just a bit and that seemed to help. the difference between this

and this

might only be obvious to me as the one drawing the comic, but it felt a little tighter and more well-composed.
anyway... i tend to ask myself "why am i even drawing this? why is this happening?" nowadays.
for this page -- well, originally, i was going to draw 2 extra panels where whittacker points at kim, and tells her that if she's looking for herd immunity by buddying up with tabitha, she won't find it, because tabitha's already in trouble. that would have been laying on the foreshadowing pretty thick, but i got the urge to draw it mostly because i realized whittacker's bracelets weren't really ever established in this scene. i can live with that, though.
i think whittacker's character developed a little more in this page... i thought about how she was grilling tab for wanting "special" food when iirc whittacker has 2 allergy bracelets, and how she established that she has limits with how far she will push people here. a little bit of foreshadowing about sugar's treatment was also dropped. although a lot of people know sugar's undergoing ect already just by my blogging, i try to still act as if there will be an audience member who doesn't know (apparently some fresh meat readers didn't know who sugar was at all!)
all in all, this scene's done, it did have a point besides introductions of the characters, and i really need to figure out an easier and more appealing way to draw lunchrooms...
