this was a long time coming. i kept forgetting it and then dreading how bad the web page was gonna chug when typing the commentary. i'm just going to submit it now and insert the commentary a little later, although i don't have much to say about this one i don't think.

this took longer than expected, but the majority in the middle here are commissions. they do push what i have the time to do, but they are still not really self-delegated...
two of the icons there are not for commissions but something i’ve been wanting to draw for myself. it’s been a long time since i’ve drawn any icons for fun, and my mindset for composing them has changed significantly.
the page there with the shaven wolf and a lot of text is my first redesign/design critique commission, so it’s the first example i have of how those would look. they’re relatively cheap because they’re only supposed to take me an hour, but i keep finding myself uneasy about drawings for hire that don’t take a long time. i feel like having so many projects can warp your sense of how much time generally needs to be put into art at all.

felix’s design was cleaned up and finalized a bit, hence the reference. they are a little more generic now in my eyes, but a much better design now.

the traditional sequence at the end was to blow off steam instead of having a meltdown. i ended up getting hungry and stopping there, and i’m not sure i’ll finish it at any point, so i decided to upload it now. mixed media, mostly cheap pens with shitty oil-based ink that my mother gave to me because she loved sale shopping for the rush of getting a deal, i suppose. plus posca’s for some erasing and filling lines. i feel bad throwing away bad art supplies, so i just try to find uses for them in smaller parts of the work.
the sequence was originally going to end with the green bubble coming back and pointing out how needle went from singular feeling to plural feelings from the first sentence to the second in the last two “panels,” and then a final shot of needle absolutely fuming. oh well.

yes it is. it isn't pronounced exactly like that (orthographically german instead of english), but that is what it is

You art is so dynamic and expressive, it makes me just (does chef kiss motion). Also, is Dupe's last name a play on "cruisin' for a bruisin' " by chance?

oh my god the visceral emotion i just felt being reminded of grace kelly..... if i tried to comment on everything i liked about all of these i'd be here all night but especially those traditional drawings of needle have this wonderful palette and the use of texture is really really good i can just feel the image with my eyes and i don't quite know how to describe it but it's just. fantastic is the thing
