FaD strip: expletive memory

i'm not sure why i wanted to draw this strip, but it happened anyway. i think a primary driving factor was that it was shortish and involved juno, making it appealing when i have too many longer strips about dupe and gray and not a lot of energy.

unelaborated upon was the concept of memories that transcend dissociative barriers. there are a few different qualities to them, and it varies by person, but the most obvious memories are implicit memories, or memories you don't have to explicitly, consciously recall to remember. knowing how to walk is probably something you don't recall actively learning, but you still know how to do it, as an example. it isn't always formative, either, as you probably also know how to say, navigate your bedroom without consciously remembering the entire layout and visualizing it to do that, so these things can be assumed to come from repetition most of the time.
well, one lizard shaped part of my brain figured that out at some point a while ago, which had its own ramifications, but will get its own comic, sort of. aside from that, it's also been studied that non-repetitious memories can also be shared between some, but not all, alters, even in DID. the amnesia is somewhere exaggerated for the big screen, but it's also definitely... there. it's just interesting how these things end up manifesting and shaking out sometimes. i decided to just write a little 1-2-punchline comic about it for now. i'm hoping the lines can clean up the sketches i was struggling with near the end.
